Plumbing day on our Schamburg basement project! 🔧
This one is a basement bathroom remodel where the goal was simple: more space. We changed the layout and moved the back wall to open the room up. Once the wall moved, the old plumbing no longer lined up, so we pulled it all out and started from scratch with a new drain rough-in for the toilet, sink and shower.
When we opened the slab, we found the concrete was cracked and had settled. The previous contractor who finished this basement years ago never reinforced it. So before anything gets covered up, we're drilling and epoxying steel rebar into the existing slab to tie it together, then pouring high-strength commercial concrete around the new lines.
Nobody will see this part once the tile goes down. That's exactly why we do it right.
Swipe to see the old pipes, the slab opened up, the rough-in plan, and the new shower pan set in place. 👉
