We’re excited to be joining the Hannibal Central Park Farmers Market crew at the Hannibal, MO FolkLife Festival on October 17th & 18th!🍂🪴

📅 Saturday, October 17th: 10 AM – 5 PM
📅 Sunday, October 18th: 10 AM – 4 PM
📍 Center Street, Hannibal, MO, look for the Hannibal Central Park Farmers Market crew and tables full of plants!

🚨 A little change for this event: I won’t have the plant trailer with me since trailers aren’t permitted at the festival. BUT don’t worry! I’ll still have my FULL INVENTORY of tropical plants, succulents, and cacti, PLUS some new plants for you to fall in love with! 🌵💚

🌿😂 NEW WORD UNLOCKED: GIGORGEOUS!

My mom accidentally combined gigantic and gorgeous the other night, and honestly… I think we might be onto something. 😂

Gigorgeous (adj.): A plant so gigantic and gorgeous that “beautiful” just doesn’t cut it.

Naturally, I had to introduce this word to the plant community by showing off some of my biggest beauties. 🌱💚

Now I need to know… What’s the most gigorgeous plant in YOUR collection? 👀👇

And yes, I hope to see this word in the plant community dictionary by the end of the week. 😂🌿

🚨 Plant rescue or too far gone?! 🌱🪴

My Hoya ‘Krimson Princess’ has been looking pretty sad, and I originally blamed the extreme summer heat… but turns out, that may have only been PART of the problem! 🫠

Once I got it out of the pot, I discovered the soil was hard, hydrophobic, and very peat-heavy. Most of the roots had already died from being too dry. But wait… it gets worse. 🥲

ROOT MEALYBUGS. 😭 That fluffy white substance all over the roots was a major red flag!

So, I had some decisions to make. I separated the pieces that still had a chance, sacrificed a few leaves, and completely restarted the root system. I removed ALL the roots, dead or alive, because I didn’t want to risk bringing those pests into the fresh soil. Then I tucked the cuttings into their new home and gave them a good watering. 🤞🌿

Now comes the real question…

Okay, plant people… it’s time to confess. 😂🌱

How many of these are you guilty of? Be honest. 👀

Because I KNOW I’m not the only one who has:
🌿 Bought a plant because ONE leaf was pretty
🌿 Checked for new growth 47 times in one day
🌿 Moved a plant 6 inches and called it a “new spot”
🌿 Said “I’m running out of room” while buying another plant
🌿 panicked because I thought a speck was a pest 😂

🌱 What plant are YOU most proud of? 👀

I have quite a few plants that I’m incredibly proud of, but right now, my Philodendron ‘Caramel Marble’ has to take the top spot. 🤎💚

The color on this plant is absolutely incredible, and I’m loving how beautifully the leaves are maturing. Even better, it hasn’t once shown any signs of reverting! 🙌 It has also produced some absolutely amazing cuttings for me, which makes me love it even more.

Honestly, it’s just one of those plants that I can stare at every time I walk past it. 😂🌿 It’s beautiful, it’s growing well, it’s giving me gorgeous color, and it has been an all-around dream plant.

But enough about mine… what plant are you most proud of right now, and WHY?👇🌱

The sun is out and it’s finally warmed up enough to uncover the plants! ☀️🌿

The succulents and cacti are uncovered, the tropicals are out, and the trailer is officially ready for plant shopping! 🌵🪴🌱

After a chilly start to the morning, these babies are finally getting to enjoy some sunshine. 😍

👻 Nothing will haunt you more than the plants you didn’t buy… 👻

Especially when you come back next week and realize that beautiful plant you were thinking about is GONE. 😂🌿

Don’t worry, though — the plants are just taking a little morning nap under their bedsheets! 🛏️🪴 They’re staying nice and cozy while we wait for this cool morning weather to warm up. 🥶😂
