Fun custom build hidden shelf. This dry wall was cut out by contractor to create a dog ‘den’ under the stairs for one lucky furbaby! Parents wanted an easy way to access the space while having it functional. Shelf was built in our shop, transported and installed. Goal Achieved.

Two Custom bookcases
Size: 84” x 56” x 14”
Stain: Rubio Monocoat 3 part Cinnamon, 1 part Black

1. Cut oak plywood to size
2. Dry fit
3. Drill adjustable shelf holes with jig
4. Sand
5. Assemble bookcase frame
6. Cut shelves, trim, molding to size from solid oak
7. Dry fit
8. Sand
9. Sand
10. Sand 🙃
11. Attach trim and molding
12. Rubio wood cleaner
13. Mix stain 3 part cinnamon and 1 part black stain and apply
14. Dry & Cure
15. Final assembly at client’s house

Delivery was smooth and customer was thrilled with the build!

Wishing you inspiration and creativity.

Needless to say, we had an enjoyable couple of days on the lathe crafting these wood pens.
The process:
1. Cut wood into approximately 1” square strips & lengthwise to 4 1/4”
2. Marked blanks on both sides as numbered sets
3. Cut wood blanks in half
4. Drilled a 7mm hole in the center of each piece using the .woodworking lathe
5. Superglued brass tubes into hole
6. Used a pen barrel trimmer to square the brass tubes and the wood
7. Turned the wood blanks on the lathe with a pen turning mandrel
8. Sanded
9. Rubbed Super glue for hard finish
10. Buff & Polish
11. Use Pen Press to assemble each pen together.

Wooden pen species photographed: Canary, Cherry, Brazilian Cherry, Maple & Walnut
