⭐Employee Spotlight: Haley Sparling, Controller⭐

Haley leads our accounting department and has been with Korellis for 9 years.

When she was nominated, one thing stood out right away, how naturally she lives out our core values. Always willing to help, especially with financial and payroll questions, she takes the time to walk people through situations step by step. It’s not just about giving answers, she makes sure people feel confident and understand the “why” behind things.

She also creates an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions. That’s been especially noticeable over the past few weeks as teams have worked through budgeting. Even with a high volume of questions, she has remained patient, open, and committed to helping others learn.

Beyond day to day support, she leads her team with trust and understanding, always focused on setting them up for success. She also brings a thoughtful perspective to leadership conversations, speaking up and challenging ideas when needed, always with our people in mind.

She’s a great example of what it looks like to support others and grow together. Thank you, Haley! We’re so grateful for the leadership you bring to Korellis.

After storm damage impacted a roof at Lowell Baseball - Lowell IN, they reached out to the community for help. It didn’t take long for our team to step in.

Ronnie Strain, Kevin Cooper, Jobanny Herrera, and Nick Slavis gave up their Sunday and completed the entire project in just seven hours.

We also appreciate Jami Frampton for helping with yard support and Haley Sparling for keeping the crew hydrated in the heat.

This is the kind of work our team takes pride in.

⭐Field Employee Spotlight: Rafael Alvarez, Journeyman Roofer⭐

Meet Rafael Alvarez, a Journeyman Roofer with 13 years of experience and nearly two years with Korellis. While an injury has kept him on light duty, he has made a real impact supporting our yard and shop team.

Rafael has become a dependable part of the yard crew, working closely with the mechanics and helping wherever he is needed. From prepping small equipment to assisting with truck maintenance, he takes on a wide range of tasks and handles each one with care. His team consistently points out that he does not cut corners and takes pride in every job, no matter how small.

He shows up every day ready to work and willing to step in wherever help is needed. Whether it is learning something new, jumping into a tough situation, or helping the team get through a busy day, Rafael brings a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. He is always ready to lend a hand and has helped the crew out of more than a few jams.

When asked about his experience, Rafael shared that Korellis stands out for its comfortable atmosphere and the way people support each other. It is something he appreciates and it shows in the effort he brings every day.

Help us recognize Rafael and the role he plays in keeping things moving behind the scenes.

⭐Foreman Spotlight: Joe Learman, Sheet Metal Foreman⭐

When a project calls for precision and creativity, Joe is always in the conversation. Over his 33 years at Korellis, he’s become a trusted go to for complex sheet metal work and custom solutions.

He’s worked on all kinds of unique scopes, from intricate copper details to one of a kind fabrications. No matter the challenge, Joe brings a level of craftsmanship and problem solving that helps set the standard.

His experience also makes him a valuable resource for others. Whether it’s talking through a tricky scope or helping find a better approach, Joe plays an important role in keeping things on track. He’s also taken initiative in sharing his knowledge in a bigger way, leading sheet metal classes for our project managers to help them better understand the details behind the work. From standing seam to flashing details and edge metals, Joe is helping bridge the gap between field expertise and project ex*****on. He’s a great mentor and someone the team truly benefits from.

What he has to say: “I’ve spent over three decades here and still enjoy the variety of work we take on. Every job brings something different, and I like being able to help solve problems and show younger guys what I’ve learned along the way.”

Joe, you take on the kind of work that requires real skill and experience, and you make it look easy. The knowledge you bring and share every day makes a difference. Thank you for being such a key part of the team.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s a good time to check in with each other.

In construction, we’re used to pushing through long days and getting the job done no matter what. That drive is part of what makes this industry strong, but it also means we don’t always talk about what’s going on behind the scenes.

This work can take a toll. Long hours, physical demands, and constant pressure add up. We talk a lot about jobsite safety, and mental health deserves that same attention.

This message from NRCA says it well: Be tough enough to ask for help.

Check in on your crew. Don’t be afraid to speak up if you need it too.

After this winter, it’s worth knowing what’s up there.

Our Spring Preventative Maintenance promo wraps up May 20, and we’re scheduling final assessments now. Ongoing spring rain is often what starts to expose issues left behind by snow and ice, turning small problems into bigger ones fast.

Every plan starts with a free roof assessment. We’ll document what we find and walk you through next steps so you can plan with confidence. No commitment required.

New plan sign ups save 10% on the first year, up to $1,000, through May 20.

Let’s get it on the schedule while there’s still time.

We had the chance to spend the day volunteering with the South Suburban Humane Society to help prep for their 37th Annual Spotlight Gala.

The day started at the shelter loading up auction items and raffle baskets, then moved to the Tinley Park Convention Center to unload and help get everything organized for the event.

It was a great way to spend the day, getting involved and supporting an organization that does so mych for animals across the region. 🐾

Last week, members of Team Korellis attended the Northwest Indiana Business RoundTable (NWIBRT) and Construction Advancement Foundation - CAF Safety Awards Banquet to recognize individuals and companies committed to safety in our industry.

We are proud to share that General Foreman Armando Tamayo was recognized with the Outstanding Craft Person Safety Award. Armando leads by example and takes pride in looking out for his crew and doing the job the right way. This recognition is well deserved.

It was also an honor for Korellis to receive the Contractor Safety Award, a reflection of the effort our entire team puts into maintaining a strong safety culture across our jobsites.

It was a great evening connecting with others in the industry and celebrating the people who continue to raise the bar.

Congratulations, Armando, and thank you to our team for representing Korellis so well!
