PROTECTING YOUR PIPES!
See the very detail explanation below!
With the incoming cold front make sure your home or business is prepared. I don’t claim to be an expert but I work with the best! So here are your cold weather tips! This is a list for both raised or slab houses.
1. Make sure your foundation vents and crawl spaces are closed.
2. Make sure your water hoses are disconnected from the outside bibs.
3. Cover your outside bibs. Those insulated fiberglass covers at Lowes work just fine. Stuff a couple of old washcloths inside them for good measure.
4. Let some faucets drip. Doesn’t matter how many, but make sure at least one of them (preferably farthest from the water heater) an is a hot water faucet. And don’t just let it drip, let it be almost a stream. This is especially important if your water heater is in your attic or garage. This will keep water moving through all of your hot and cold plumbing. Don’t worry about a little higher water bill. It will be cheaper than the insurance deductible.
5. If you have exposed pipes in your attic or garage wrap them. You can get that at Lowes too.
6. Know where your water meter is and know how to turn the water off! Knowing the location of the meter box will help both you and officials if the pipes bust and need to be found.
7. Know the contact number for your local utility company in case of emergency.
8. Don’t leave a space heater somewhere unattended trying to keep pipes from freezing.
For more explaination on dripping the hot water. Dripping the cold is only keeping water moving in half of your plumbing. Dripping the hot side is moving the cold side through your heater and then through the hot side of the plumbing. The water sitting in your hot water pipes is not hot. It’s only hot inside the water heater. Water sitting still freezes!!!

Moment of hard truth this morning- I have attached DR Horton current price sheet for one of their subdivisions. Look at the living sq foot then look at the price. Roughly 1800+ sq feet for $260,000 +. This is roughly 145.00 price per sq foot.
You’re wondering why I show this - because do NOT call or show up to a custom home builder and want 3,000 living for 350,000. NOT happening. That is roughly 116.00 price per sq foot.
Hard truth! Don’t hate the messanger. Just giving actual facts.

It’s been a crazy, crazy time in Southeast Louisiana for the past couple of weeks. Fallen trees, flooding, and power outages have been a weekly struggle since Hurricane Ida. Our offices flooded too! Folks, we’re right there with you. It's a cheerful, very happy place for me". Kim's sunroom features pale yellow, soothing walls, floor-to-ceiling windows that let in natural light, and a dual-sided fireplace! It's the perfect spot for morning coffee and reflection! ☀️

From Start to Finish: Why eNg?
eNg is trendy but unique. We are focused on professional services that are organized and transparent in all aspects of every project. An open line of communication with each client is our top priority throughout our projects. During your project, we offer one-on-one consultations that can be beneficial for our clients on an educational level and include financial reviews, coordinating bank loan preparations, realtor analyst and a closing attorney if needed for the sale of a home. These meetings build the relationship and trust that is needed for any project.
eNg takes our procurement process seriously. The bidding process with eNg is the longest process. We do not estimate on any line item. All sub-contractors will bid on the house plans as we have drafted them. Any line item where clients choose items there will be an allocation based on the clients budget and design. All prices are locked for a 15-day hold from the time of bid. Each client will receive a cost break down once contracts are signed.
We believe in total transparency. That is why we maintain flat-rates with zero hidden fees. For us, it’s more than providing a quality finished product – it’s your vision at an affordable price. Creating a positive, stress-free experience from start to finish also plays a huge role. While each project we complete is unique in its own way, the customer experience and journey remains the same – no matter how big or small your project is.
