I’m happy to introduce our new lift today.
It is a CMC 105HD, from All Access Equipment.
It will allow us to safely remove trees damaged by Ida.
This machine is perfect for this application, reaching heights of 105’!
Please consider reaching out to get on our list, as we help customers prepare for another storm season.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of insurance claims. This was in my yard, and it could have reached my house. It will not be here for the next storm.
After it fell, I noticed broken wood fibers in the trunk from the stress of Hurricane Ida. I’ll post a picture below to show how even some of our standing pine trees may be damaged on the inside from the high winds.

Big things are on the way for Arbordale Land and Tree Service!
After Hurricane Ida dealt such a devastating blow to our community, I focused exclusively on removing fallen trees from homes, and cleaning up the mess.
I have decided to focus the rest of 2022 upon helping folks remove the hazardous trees that are still standing. Yesterday, I ordered a special machine that will help me remove them safely.
It will be here by March, and I can’t wait to share it with my community, as we all prepare for another storm season!

Top 10 trees you should NOT cut down(or up) after a storm:

10.Trees that are damaged, but may can be saved.
9.Trees that are NOT on your property. Your responsibility ends at your property line. If you cut someone else’s trees, first get written permission. They may have very good reasons for waiting to cut it, including insurance reasons.
8. Trees in the dark. If you do not have enough lighting, your saw can hit all sorts of things it shouldn’t, and your tripping risk goes up.
7.Trees that other people are cutting already. It’s not a smart idea to run two saws on the same tree, as it may shift with each cut. Also, always stay at least 10’ from anyone with a chainsaw.
6.Trees in the highways. There are contracts in place to clear city, parish, and state roads of debris. Your job ends at your driveway.
5.Trees on or near power lines. Not only do you risk electrocution, but the lines are often pressure loaded and can catapult you, or the tree, putting you in extreme danger!
4.Trees that are covered by your insurance. You are better off to avoid cutting trees on houses, structures, fences, etc; these jobs should be performed by licensed contractors to be paid by your insurance company. If you do the work, you will not be able to determine the value of your loss, not to mention those trees are usually the most dangerous. Losing money to cut dangerous trees is not smart.
3.Trees that you “need a ladder” to cut. You should never cut trees from a ladder. Never.
2.Trees that have a large root ball that is uprooted. These trees will stand back up!
This has killed more storm workers than any other type. It will throw you to your death.
1.Trees that are still being blown by the winds of the storm! It can wait! Tree work is dangerous enough, but every year, inexperienced tree slayers decide they can work in the storm, on the roof or from a ladder, with a chainsaw they bought that weekend! Please, wait for the storm to pass. More limbs or trees can fall on you, or you can be thrown off balance by the wind.

I am proud of anyone who tackles their own cleanup efforts, but there are some safety lines you simply should not cross. I hope this list helps keep some people safe. Wear all the personal protective equipment, and learn what causes kickback on chainsaws. Most importantly, learn your limitations, and listen to my advice. I am a licensed arborist for more than 20 years, and I have much storm work experience. I’ve learned from LSU sponsored courses, and in the trenches of major storms including Katrina, Gustav, Rita, and most recently, Hurricane Laura.

I became a Louisiana licensed arborist when I was only 20 years old. For the last 20 years, I’ve spent nearly every day 70’ up in the air, cutting down trees around houses, and serving our local area with professional and dependable tree work. It has been good to me and my family, and I thank all of my customers who have trusted me with their trees! I also thank all of those who have helped me along the way, as tree work is not a solo operation.
At the end of last year, I sold my tree trimming equipment, and downsized my company. I’m still an arborist, but I am only grinding stumps, and clearing land now. Please, keep me in mind for any of that kind of work. I kept my bobcat, excavator, and stump grinder, so I can still offer a lot for your property projects. I just will not be able to remove or trim trees that require an aerial lift or crane.
My family and I thank you and appreciate you for all of the past and future work!

Don’t forget to cover your citrus trees before the freeze! If you can do it, add a light bulb underneath.
Just remember that LED bulbs aren’t going to help you.

Big stump, little excavator, but with our stump grinder these jobs are easy. After grinding, our little digger can get the roots and entire stump out. The customer saves the expense of a larger excavator, and saves the expense of hauling away a very large stump! We also have to disturb less of the surrounding area, especially near trees, utilities, or property lines. Give us a call, or text a picture of your stump for a price.
