Take a slow walk around your property today, before the leaves finish falling.

What annoyed you every time you looked at it this year? The bed with no clean edge. The bank that keeps sliding. The parking spot that keeps eating gravel. The soggy corner.

That list is your beat the frost list, and the emphasis is on beat.

You have got maybe a few good weekends left before the ground turns cold and hard in the Sandhills. After that, everything on that list waits until spring, and spring is a long way off.

Pick one. Just one. Knock it out this month.

Bring the trailer. That is the whole tip.

Folks roll up with a half ton pickup planning to haul home forty ties, and the math just does not work. A bundle of twenty is real weight.

So bring the trailer, bring a buddy, and let us load it right. Our crew handles it at no charge with the grapple truck, and we make sure it rides safe before you pull out.

174 Marks Creek Church Rd in Hamlet. Watch for the orange fencing, and stay clear of the small building on your left near the active rail.

The cool weather makes loading a pleasure. Get them at Beavers Pavers online!

Contractors and landscapers across North Carolina, the floor is yours.

We know plenty of you buy from us and turn it right around on client jobs, and fall is your busy season.

So introduce yourself to the colony. Drop your business name, your service area, and what you specialize in.

Homeowners read these posts, and a lot of them are looking right now for somebody who actually knows how to set timber before the weather turns.

Think of it as a free ad in front of exactly the right local crowd.

For crews running big jobs, we handle bulk truckload orders of fifteen bundles or more, and I can run a grapple truck out if you need a load dropped.

Weekly Ideas Day, and we are building a raised ornamental bed you can plant for fall color right now.

Step one. Square out your footprint and level the ground under the whole rectangle.

Step two. Lay your first course of Heritage ties, checking level along every side and across the diagonals.

Step three. Stack the second course, staggering the corners like brickwork.

Step four. Pin the courses with rebar and add a bead of exterior adhesive if you want extra hold.

Step five. Two inches of gravel in the bottom for drainage, then soil.

Here is the rule we never skip. Line the bed with a heavy duty liner, and keep it for ornamental and decorative plants only. No edible gardens.

Fill it with mums, ornamental kale, and pansies that laugh at a light frost. Heritage handles this job beautifully.

Think about your driveway before winter gets here.

That loose gravel edge that has been slowly wandering into the grass all year? Freeze and thaw is about to make it worse. Cold weather heaves the ground, and unframed gravel spreads and sinks every winter.

Frame it now. Run Strength ties down the working edges where the tires roll, and that driveway holds its shape and its gravel through the whole cold season.

It is a weekend of work that pays you back every single time you pull in, and it saves you a spring spent raking gravel back where it belongs.

Grade one, when the job cannot fail.

Strength. $24 per tie. $480 per bundle of 20.

Solid sides, sharp corners, and the density that holds up under real weight and years of hard weather.

This is the tie for retaining walls, driveway edges, fire pit seating walls, and any commercial job that takes abuse and has to keep standing.

Since we simplified the lineup, Strength stays consistently in stock, so the grade you need is actually on the ground when you need it.

Build it once, before the cold, and build it to last.

Did you know the way you set a tie matters more than which grade you buy?

We see it constantly. Somebody buys the premium grade, sets it straight on loose topsoil, and wonders why it shifted by spring.

The timber was never the weak link. The setup was.

Three things decide whether your build lasts, and they cost almost nothing.

One, a level and compacted base underneath. Loose dirt settles, gravel does not.

Two, drainage behind the wall so water leaves instead of pushing.

Three, rebar or pins tying your courses together so they act as one wall, not a stack of loose timbers.

Do those three and our grade two outlasts the neighbor's concrete. Skip them and no grade on earth saves you.

We share one of these every Monday. Follow along so the next tip finds you.

Peak fall color is here, and it is a gift and a warning at the same time.

The gift is obvious. Your yard has never looked better than it does right now with the trees turning.

The warning is quieter. Once those leaves come down, the cold is right behind them. In the Sandhills that first real frost is usually just a few weeks out.

So enjoy the color, but do not let it lull you. If there is a project you meant to finish before winter, the clock is honestly running.

A wall goes up in a weekend. A frozen spring of regret lasts a lot longer.

Here is what folks love about picking up in person, and it matters more than ever this time of year.

You see the actual ties before they go on your trailer. In daylight, in your own hands, no guessing.

Walk the stacks. Check the ends. Ask our crew anything, and get a straight answer from people who set this timber for a living.

Then we load it for free and you are on your way, ready to beat the frost.

Show us what you built this fall, colony.

If you put our ties in the ground this season, a wall, a border, a fire pit, a drainage fix, drop a photo in the comments.

We want to feature real projects from real folks here in the Sandhills and across North Carolina.

There is something about seeing what somebody down the road pulled off that makes your own project feel a whole lot more doable.

Extra respect for anybody who shows the before shot too. The messy start is half the story.
