Big ideas and high energy delivered by our great Summer 2026 intern class! Our aspiring professionals teamed up to help Eagleswood Elementary School in West Creek, NJ envision the future of its outdoor campus.
Under the mentorship of Director of Landscape Architecture, Will Sewter, RLA, PLA, ASLA, CLARB, the team worked closely with school leadership to clarify and prioritize the District’s goals, survey the site, develop concepts, create models and imagery, and build an engaging final presentation.
With a grant-funded walking track already planned as the first phase of the project, the interns took the opportunity to think bigger. They developed a comprehensive master plan exploring how the site could evolve beyond the track into a multifunctional outdoor space that supports recreation, learning, and community engagement. Their concepts helped the school envision how the entire area could be thoughtfully designed to enhance curriculum opportunities, student wellness, and community use for years to come.
The interns presented two master plan concepts complete with landscaping, site amenities, and budgeting recommendations. This hands-on experience gave them the opportunity to collaborate across offices, engage with clients, and bring creative solutions to life. Along the way, they gained valuable experience balancing client needs, working alongside firm leadership, collaborating as a team, and developing budget-conscious design solutions.
We couldn't be prouder of their hard work, dedication, and creativity in helping transform a vision into a roadmap for the future! This was an amazing way to cap off a great summer!
