Wow

You may have seen sturgeon jumping in the river, but did you know that they move between rivers up and down the Atlantic and even into Canada?

As part of a recently funded grant to MDMR from the NOAA Species recovery Grants to States program, scientists in the Bureau of Sea-Run Fisheries and Habitat are working with collaborators at the University of Maine to get a better handle on how sturgeon move along our coastline. The team caught tagged Atlantic and Shortnose Sturgeon in the Kennebec and Penobscot rivers during August and are now tracking their movements among Maine’s coastal rivers and beyond. A highlight of the tagging effort was the capture of this enormous adult Atlantic Sturgeon. The team is excited to see how far afield it ranges! FMI https://bit.ly/4mlVxoG

I thought I was “done” fixing this chair but it wiggled too much sooooo I moved a stringer on the seat - back into its hole on a leg corner- took a bit of thinking & miscellaneous tools… (I was thinking at the time, is this a Trigonometry - problem(?) 45 years without using it….hmmm) now onto painting it white - check back later -

I’ve had this table too long, tried staining last week, 95-100 was too hot, I had to sand again. This time I sanded, and then applied a conditioner, and reapplied Vermont Natural Coatings, stain and Finish (low VOCs) . Looks great! Reapply in 2 hours! Wowee.
