Wood River Land Trust is a non-profit conservation organization that helps landowners and communities protect and restore wildlife habitat, clean water, farmland, and scenic vistas that make the Wood River Valley and the surrounding areas unforgettable.

In 2007, Wood River Land Trust launched the Trout Friendly Lawns (TFL) program in partnership with businesses, local governments and other nonprofit organizations. TFL promotes simple steps residents and homeowners can take in their own backyards to conserve water, protect water quality and keep the river and its fish healthy. A certified Trout Friendly Lawn emphasizes: 1) being water-wise; 2) reducing or eliminating the use of synthetic fertilizers and herbicides and 3) using native and drought-tolerant plants.
