Reputable installers want more regulations for onsite wastewater in Oklahoma because we see issues like this way too often. You know there is a problem when the people doing the work are asking for more rules (just read the comments on the original post). It is the state's responsibility to protect our drinking water and they are failing.

Tag or contact your state senator and representative and let them know you can't enjoy your morning coffee because your neighbor's aerobic smells like 💩 and you're tired of it.

I know our customers’ septic system is working without even leaving my bed on Saturday morning because they have Septilink.

A quick check on the app tells me everything looks good. I can even verify their pump ran last night, what time it ran and for how long.

Septilink can be installed on any brand of aerobic system or any lift station. So quit worrying about your aerobic system and contact us to get Septilink installed.

We visited a home today that has been under a service contract with another company for 8 years. Their aerator wasn’t working, it needed pumped and every lid was unsecured because the risers were broken!

The company inspected the tank 3 weeks ago and told the homeowner the tank didn’t need pumped and that she could wait a few months to replace the non-working aerator. She had been complaining about it stinking - which was happening because there was sludge in the pump tank and the aerator wasn’t working. She has been spraying untreated wastewater on her yard. 🤦‍♀️

Not all septic companies are the same! All of our technicians attend regular training so they understand how a system works and they can communicate to you what can and can’t wait and why.

Properly maintained aerobic systems do not stink. If you’re tired of smelling your neighbor’s 💩, give them our number.

Did you know the State of Oklahoma requires anyone installing more than one septic system per year to be certified? Hiring a certified installer means your installer is bonded and has passed DEQ testing and inspections as well as attends annual CEU training.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of uncertified companies out there advertising as installers. Luckily, it’s easy to protect yourself:

✅ Verify they are certified on the DEQ website
https://applications.deq.ok.gov/certinstallers/certinstallers.aspx
✅ Ask to see a copy of the installation permit (even if they are certified!)

You may notice a few faces from last year’s state conference. We don’t just send our certified installers to training, we ensure our entire team receives training to improve their knowledge so we can better serve our customers.

The heat this summer has been tough on aerobic systems so here are a few tips to hopefully help yours survive the next few weeks

1. Clean the grass and leaves from around your air pump. You want as much air flow as possible to keep it cool.

2. Clean or replace the air filter located in the top of the aerator. Keep that air flowing!

3. Clean or replace the diffuser inside your tank. This one is a little more difficult for homeowners but it should be done annually to prevent high back pressure that can damage the pump (if you’re having your aerator go out every summer, this is probably your problem!)

Finally, here’s what to do if you get an alarm:

If your control panel has two lights and the amber (or yellow) light comes on, mute the alarm using the switch on the front. Listen or feel for your air pump. If it’s running, check all the hoses are attached and don’t have any damage. If it’s not running, wait overnight. Some of the air pumps have a high temp shutoff and it may reset when temps drop. An air alarm won’t hurt anything to wait and it may save you an unnecessary service call. If it’s still not working by morning you need to get it serviced.

If your control panel has a single light, listen or feel for your air pump. If it’s running, check all the hoses are attached and don’t have any damage. If no issues are found, it’s probably a high water alarm. If it’s not running, you may want to wait overnight. The only issue is that it could also be a high water alarm and waiting could cause a backup. So, you need to be certain it’s only the air pump by verify the water level is normal. Some of the air pumps have a high temp shutoff and it may reset when temps drop. An air alarm won’t hurt anything to wait and it may save you an unnecessary service call. If it’s still not working by morning you need to get it serviced.

One last thing, Hiblow is now offering high heat rebuild kits. They cost a little more but we are switching to them whenever we can.
