After being out of work for about 2 months, I’ll admit that making these boards took me longer than I’d have liked. 😅
Between getting injured, and then getting pulled in what seems like 1,000 different directions everyday, I didn’t get to spend as much time in the shop.

But… I think these boards turned out beautifully, and they are a different style than most of the previous boards I have done! I used a variety of woods; cherry, maple, walnut, and cypress. I hope that you all enjoy these ones as much as I did!
These were inspired by one of my favorite board-makers, Chefdudeboards! His style, and use of a single piece of wood for many of his boards really inspired me to add some “flare” to my technique. Thank you for the inspiration! 🙏🏻

What’s this?! A new 3D printer?? 🤯

That’s right!! We added a Snapmaker U1 to the business!
Not only will this bad boy give us more production capability, but it will also reduce the amount of waste during multicolor prints!
This allows us to keep prices lower, while still providing quality 3D prints!

Excited to announce the addition of a new upgrade to our printers! 🎉
We added a new ACE color unit, so we now have the capability to do 8 color prints!

It took a little brainstorming to figure out how to get the new unit to fit, but after printing some risers, everything fit!! 😁

Hello everyone!

It has been VERY quiet here at Against the Grain… and here’s why:

Towards the end of June I injured myself and have been unable to work for the past two months. It wasn’t anything life threatening, not work related, and I’m healthy, which I am grateful for, but it was a rough couple of months!

I’m not 100% recovered, but I am ready to start working again! The 3D printers have been running, and with the help of my wonderful wife I was able to get the “shop” cleaned up and reorganized, which gives me the green light to start woodworking again!!

We’ve got some cool things coming!! So with that, I am going to try my best to post a little more consistently to keep the “family” here growing and to give you all more updates.

On a final note, I just want to thank everyone who has supported our little business and stuck around! I/we are very grateful for all of you! We look forward to continuing to work and grow with all of you!
