The roadwork will be on pause for tomorrow and the road will be open. Weather depending we may continue more Thursday. If not we will resume next week! Thanks

North Guilford Road Update:

As of a few moments ago we have closed the next section of the North Guilford Road so we can replace several culverts and do ditching as we go along. The road is now closed from the Steward Road intersection to the Willimantic Road intersection almost into town. We have stop lights up and several signs and cones to help with traffic. LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY: If you live or need to get somewhere between this closure you may proceed with caution ⚠️and we will get you through as soon as we can. Most of the work we have to get done is between the Steward Road intersection and Rays Auto so beyond that you can get through without any issues or delays from in town Monson. The road will be closed from roughly 0700-1600 hours daily Monday through Thursday. Thanks 🙏🏼

We are making good progress on the North Guilford Road for the Town of Monson. Culvert replacement and ditching. Road is closed from route 150 to the Steward Road daily from roughly 0700 until 1600 hours through Thursday. Thanks!

Just wanted to put out an update. We will be starting the replacement of culverts on the North Guilford Road starting on Monday, August 17th. During this time we will have a detour in place while we are working and will reopen the road at the end of the day. Starting on Monday the road will be closed between the Steward Road in Monson to Route 150 Abbot/Guilford. Once we get the culverts replaced and move passed the Steward Road intersection the detour will close down the North Guilford Road from the intersection of the Willimantic Road to the Steward Road and the detour will send people down the Willimantic Road to the Steward Road and back to 150 from the end of the North Guilford Road.

ROAD WORK NOTICE
Starting Monday, August 10th the North Guilford Road will the under construction in multiple areas with expected road closures and detours. The road will be closed except to local traffic. This project is going to take at least two weeks and you should expect traffic delays during this time.

On July 29, 2026 we completed work for the Borestone Mountain Audubon Sanctuary in Elliotsville. They needed the mountain road repaired due to rain water washing out the road in several locations all the way up to the Greenwood Lookout. We used crushed 1” shale from Herrick Excavation Inc. to repair the road. Thank you for your repeat business!!

On July 21, 2026 we completed this job for residents of Monson. They needed additional parking area for ATV’s and trailers. We removed many rocks, the sod and several stumps and replaced it with good gravel. With all the rocks I found on sight, I put in a rock retaining wall and leveled the area with good 2” gravel.
