It may be time to spray your boxwood again 🌿

Be like Mil…spray your boxwood if you’re starting to see brown leaves and what looks like spiderwebs around your bushes. That’s a sign it may be time to spray again.

Call your local professional company, or head up to Allemon's Landscape Center and grab a great product to spray it yourself!

Mondays with Mil is back! We took a little break last week, but we’re making up for it with a good one.

It has been HOT and dry here in Detroit, and Mil is sharing which plants are actually loving it. Her new favorite right now is Lespedeza, that gorgeous flowering shrub that’s just starting to bloom and does this beautiful flopping, cascading thing once the flowers come in. It’s happy as can be in this heat.

We’re also talking sedum, and there are so many color options to play with if you want texture and drought tolerance without sacrificing color in your beds.

If your garden has been struggling in this dry spell, these are two plants worth adding to your list.

Mondays with Mil 🌳

We’re back at the Arboretum in Patterson Park for part two of our tree talk! This week Mil is walking through some real favorites and some real cautionary tales.

First up, the showstoppers: Ginkgo, Maple, and Honey Locust, all wonderful choices if you’re picking a tree for your yard. Then we take a look at Calia Pear trees (also known as Callery Pear or Bradford Pear) and why they’re such a problem. These trees are invasive and crowd out the native species our local ecosystem depends on, so if you’re planting this season, there are much better options out there.

If you missed part one, go check it out first! And thanks for spending your Monday with us. Drop your favorite tree from today’s video in the comments, like this post, and follow along for more from Mondays with Mil 🌿
