General AI is not as smart as you think it is.

Ask a general AI chatbot an estimating question and you get a general answer.

Bid Assistant AI is different. Built specifically for electrical estimating, it’s not a general-purpose chatbot with an electrical label on it; it answers from real trade experiences.

Bid Assistant uses an internally built model with a custom harness designed around how the electrical trade actually works, rather than pulling public data from big tech models or the open internet.

Get trade answers. Not internet guesses.

Counting devices across a forty sheet set is not estimating. It is data entry with a highlighter.

QuantumCount™ finds the devices and materials across your plans and counts them for you during takeoff. You see exactly what was found and where, and can correct, add, or remove anything before the numbers move forward. Every number it produces is yours to change.

We have watched enough contractors get burned by software that hands them a number and will not show its work. If you cannot open it up and correct it, you cannot defend it, and if you cannot defend it you should not be submitting it.

So: it counts, you verify, you own the number.

Estimate live with QuantumCount™ at Booth 3130.

Why don’t your plans and specs match when they are supposed to?

Architects reuse boilerplate spec language, and a spec book routinely calls for things that were never drawn. Those conflicts usually surface in the middle of a job, when someone is emailing an architect late at night and waiting on an answer while the schedule slips.

Catching it early is not a skill problem; even good estimators miss these. You are one person reading two documents written by two people who never spoke to each other.

Crosscheck compares the plans against the spec book, flags where they disagree, and drafts the RFI you would otherwise write by hand. You still decide what matters; it just helps catch conflicts before the bid so you can send it same day instead of the same week.

We are debuting it live at NECA. Booth 3130, October 4 through 7. Check the comments to claim your code and to learn more.

You submit the bid, and then you hear nothing. Weeks later, you hear the job went to someone else.

Sometimes your number was high. That one you can live with.

Sometimes your number was right, but your estimate just didn’t hit their desk in time. That is a problem that is fixable.

Every extra day not submitted is a chance for someone else’s to land first.

Electric Ease counts and measures your plans with you, so bids go out sooner and your time goes to the judgment calls only you can make. Turn a process that takes hours or days into minutes

How long does it take you to turn plans into a bid?

It's been a while, but for good reason…

We've had our ears to the ground. Listening to clients and contractors, reading through Reddit threads and online reviews, learning what's actually working on the job, what falls short, and what keeps you up at night. We heard the pain points, and we know what it's like to lose sleep over that one bid you can't stop thinking about.

The result is Electric Ease 2.0 with QuantumCount™.

QuantumCount™ automatically counts the fixtures and devices across your plans during takeoff. AI does the counting, but you're the one who checks it, edits it, and decides what actually goes into the bid. It always goes through you.

Built by contractors for contractors. We're not guessing at your problems; we're solving the ones you face every day, and saving you time, money, and resources in the process.

Want to see the software live for the first time? We are bringing all of it to NECA 2026 in Las Vegas, October 4 through 7, Booth 3130.

Check the comments to attend NECA 2026, on us. All three show days, fully covered.

Can't join us this year? Tune in during show days. We'll be posting live on our socials throughout NECA.

You sent it at 4:58.
Not because it was ready. Because it was due.
And now you get to spend the weekend wondering what was on page 47 that you did not catch.
Every estimator we know has a version of this story. Most of them just stopped telling it out loud.
We are going to be talking about this a lot from here on out.
What is the bid that still bothers you?

Tuesday Tips – Accounting for Contingencies in Your Estimates

Even the best estimates can’t predict everything. Adding a contingency ensures you're covered for unexpected costs and scope changes—without overpricing your bid.

🔹 Set the Right Contingency – Consider project complexity, size, and historical data to estimate potential risks.

🔹 Monitor & Adjust – Keep an eye on risks as the project progresses and update contingency plans as needed.

🔹 Stay Competitive – Balance risk coverage with keeping your bid attractive to project owners.

⚡ How do you determine contingency amounts in your estimates? Let’s discuss in the comments!
