As a small family owned business, we find it crucial to have morning huddles. But ours aren’t like most. Yes, we do always talk about the plan for the day like all others, but more importantly we make sure our team is ready for the day ahead. We want to ensure everyone is in a good, positive mindset. We feel this is a very important aspect to building the culture we strive to have and maintain. Our goal is to ensure everyone WANTS to be a part of our team and build their careers with us as we continue to grow. Below are some of the things we discuss with our team every morning to ensure we are all ready. Some every day, some occasional. But everything is mentioned every week on minimum. How do you start your mornings? Are you fostering positive, goal-oriented, hard working attitudes? Or pushing them out the door with a poor, tired, burned out mindset? It’s more important than most think.
🤕 Safety topics. Whether it is a new policy we are implementing or one that needs to be changed or addressed, we want to make sure everyone goes home exactly how they came in to work.
🌦️ Weather. We discuss what the weather may look like that day, although this is Iowa so it always can change quickly!
🏈⛳️🏒🏋🏼♀️ - Leisure Activities. We like to discuss what our team enjoys doing outside of work. Don’t live to work, make time for yourself!
👍🏻 Compliment. We compliment the work our crews are doing. Our industry is typically a thankless industry. We want to change that. Whether it is directly from us owners, or from a client. We share it.
💡Ideas and Plans. We like to keep our entire company in the loop on our ideas and plans for the future and let our team bring up their ideas as they seem to have a lot of good ones!
🚜🛻 Equipment and Tools. Discuss any equipment needs, wants, issues regarding all vehicles, equipment, or tools with the entire crew.
⁉️Questions and Concerns. We are very open to fielding any questions and/or concerns from our entire crew. We are very transparent and WANT feedback from everyone whether it is good or bad. It makes us better.
🤪 FUN. Most importantly, we joke and have some fun before heading out for the day. It puts everyone in a good mood and also helps us get to know each other on a personal level to help everyone succeed and understand each other.
