Meet David Schoon, the Event Chair of The Soirée!

David is the President of Midwest Refrigeration, a family-operated commercial refrigeration and HVAC company headquartered in Griffith, Indiana. Under his leadership, the company continues a legacy of service and growth that spans more than five decades across Northwest Indiana and the greater Midwest.

David is deeply committed to the community he calls home. Through both his professional work and personal involvement, he has supported numerous local initiatives focused on strengthening families, cancer research, and fighting food insecurity. He is honored to serve as Chairperson of this year’s Food Bank of Northwest Indiana Soirée and to help advance the Food Bank’s mission of ensuring that no one in our region goes hungry.

Outside of work, David enjoys life with his wife, Lisa, and their blended family. Together they are proud parents to Oliver, Simon, Lainey and Bryson, and their household is completed by two beloved dogs and a cat. When he’s not working, David enjoys traveling, cooking, and making music. A lifelong musician, he plays bass, guitar, and drums and continues to write and record music in his home studio.

Gus does everything from sharing lunches with his co-workers to guarding the front door. His kindness and enthusiasm are contagious. Gus has become an integral part of the awesome culture at Midwest. Investing in training of our technicians. Facilitated by MRC's VP of Service along with our Field Service Leaders led our brazing class. This class was open to all level of technicians at Midwest Refrigeration.

The skills learned and practiced this weekend - Regular 95/5 soldering – the importance of a reducing flame, How to repair aluminum coils with flux core Al rod, Copper to Copper brazing and the importance of ductility in filler metal selection, and Copper to Brass brazing using fluxed rod as well as coil and flux
