Heading home from Houston after attending the supplier summit for GE Vernova. We met some people we had only met virtually. We made some great contacts and learned some valuable information. Nice to know more about a company who shares our values and ethics. We look forward to partnering with them in the near future.

Our Gregg Nadess and Randy Bolden attended this advanced estimating course. Continuing education at HEI is one way of staying prepared and competitive. Good job guys!

The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) Research and Education Committee was proud to have sponsored the "Advanced Estimating Strategies" seminar that was held on Monday, September 21, 2026 - Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (each day) at the IBEW-NECA Technical Institute (INTECH) at 6201 W. 115th Street, Alsip, IL. The sessions were facilitated by Michael Bill, NECA Education.
Advanced Estimating Strategies:
Developed to discuss all phases of the estimating process, this course covers all phases of preparing a competitive bid. Key topics include identifying desirable bid opportunities, analyzing the company's capabilities to insure profitable results, the estimator’s role at various stages of the project, writing an effective scope letter and identifying often hidden costs in the bid documents.

Day 3 of 3 golfing! Today was a charity benefit for El Valor, who supports those with disabilities. A very worthy and well attended outing, that HEI was happy to help sponsor. The weather was overcast and threatening, but the rain held off until the last hole. The play included some fun and unusual extras, namely throwing, kicking, mulligans, and get out of jail free(water hazard mitigation). oh, and being played out by mariachi band was a first! 😁

Day 2 of golf. Today was the DLZ Client appreciation golf outing at Sand Creek in Chesterton. Delayed from the previous date due to storm damage. We appreciate the invitation and enjoyed the warm, sunny day on the course.

Today HEI participated in the NIPSCO DAWN charity golf outing benefitting breast cancer research. This year we had a record 12 HEI and guest golfers. Much fun was had and much money was raised!
