Views from a prune today on a good size cottonwood! Always under control. There’s a plan for every cut and every branch being removed. Done with intention and purpose. 🌳☀️

Every nursery and landscape company has their own method of tree planting that works for them. Our standard is based on International Society of Arboriculture. The biggest discrepancy is always whether the twine and burlap should be cut / peeled back or not. It should. If it’s not it may clear the installers 1-2 year warranty but you’ll be calling an arborist years 3-5 to figure out why your tree is not doing well. The trunk grows in diameter, the twine or nylon straps used typically don’t have much room to give and do not decompose as fast as they’re expected to.

One dead elm coming down and another being trimmed. The bark blew off the trunk of the elm being removed. The client was there to see that part and that made him feel good about the decision to remove it!
