I have 12 years experience from various roles in horticulture. Now I'm taking the next steps to make Blooms by Brigitte a full-time, women and locally owned business! I enjoy working outdoors, and I oddly love odd jobs and have done a lot of them at some point for folks: Candid Photography, Decluttering, organ
izing, and downsizing. Painting outbuildings. House sitting (since I'm there to water plants anyways 😀). Christmas tree decorating, gift wrapping and outdoor light decor. Small event setup and clean up. Shuttle bus driver. Even organizing bill statements and balancing checkbooks (the last two maybe not my favorite tasks 🤫). I also have skills in floral and landscape photography (all images uploaded to my page are my own), website and layout design (I designed my website and posters myself! 😀), and all of the Microsoft office Products. In addition to hands-on work experience in my clients' gardens, retail garden centers and wholesale nurseries I have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from South Dakota State University in Brookings. SD. I have an Associate's degree in Spanish, and speak the language well but not perfect. Enough about me - let's talk about your Personal Garden Coach (who I guess is also.. me 😅)

Great for those who have always had an interest in gardening and would like to work 1-on-1 with me, Brigitte!, to learn and become confident stewards of their outdoor spaces.
-I can work with you to build, plant, harvest and preserve high yielding vegetable gardens and berries.
-We can tackle fall clean up together and I'll show you which plants stay and which ones get cut back.
-We can access growing conditions in your yard to determine which kind of annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees that will flourish in containers and/or garden beds.

I'm very confident visiting an existing garden beds, areas around the house, outbuildings, etc that are in need of clean up. No project is too small! I can quickly identify tasks to do like:
-Custom Containers changed out seasonally
-Weekly, bimonthly or monthly visits for plant care and weeding
-Perennials that can be divided -Shrubs that can be pruned
-Barkdust
