Life to all your flesh

Proverbs 4:22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

It is the will of God to heal. One reason we know that is because the Word of God is life to all our flesh. The Word of God, the Zoe (God kind of life), will drive out all sickness and disease. We must understand that God’s Word is medicine. If we would be as faithful to take our scriptural medicine as we are to take pills the doctor prescribes, we would see great changes in our bodies. We must be like the prophet who said, ‘I found your word, and I did eat it and it was the joy and rejoicing of my soul” (Jeremiah 15:16).

When we need healing for our bodies, we must first find the Word of God on that subject. The Bible happens to be loaded with scriptures concerning our physical bodies. As we find them, we must eat them. How do you partake of scripture, so it becomes health to all your flesh? You read it, hear it, meditate on it, speak it, and apply it (do it). The verses right before today’s scripture say that we must attend to this Word, incline our ears to it, keep our eyes on it, and keep it in the midst of our hearts. Our hearts must be tended to and kept full of the living, life giving Word of God, especially on the subject of healing. Think of it this way. For those of you who are vitamin takers, vitamins are great, but one specific healing scripture every day will do so much more for you than a vitamin. So, take your vitamins daily but with them, take what will bring life to all your flesh, the healing Word of God

Run your race.

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

When we were in our mother’s womb, before we did anything right or wrong, God had a plan for us. Right after we are born again, we should begin the journey of discovering who God made us to be. Many times, only people in the Body of Christ who have a five-fold call are encouraged to discover who they are. What are the other 90 to 95% of the Body of Christ supposed to do? Do they have nothing to answer for at the Judgement Seat of Christ?

Everyone has a divine destiny, and we must all discover what it is, and the race God has set before us to run. Psalm 37:23 says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delights in his way.” Since the scripture says our steps are ordered, it doesn’t seem we are supposed to be doing whatever we want and then ask God to bless our steps. The Word is very clear that God has preordained our steps (Ephesians 2:10), and that He has directed our steps, although we always try and want to make our own way (Proverbs 16:9).

I think we must understand that if we really want to please God, we don’t get to do what we want with our lives. We cannot just decide for ourselves that this is who I am. You must find your course so you can run your race and hear, “Well done,” from the Lord. How do you find your course? Psalm 119:105, “Your Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” As we get full of the Word of God, it becomes a huge lamp, like the lights you see when you drive at night, and construction is being done on the road. Those lamps put out so much light so the workers can see what they are doing, and you, the driver, can see them.

The written Word of God has, within it, your path; your spiritual eyes just need to be flooded with light, so you can see who Jesus is and what He has called you to be and to do. In both Galatians 2:2 and Philippians 2:16, Paul is telling us, by the Holy Ghost, that he had to check the course he was running so he would not run his race in vain. We have a course to run. We must find our place in the Body of Christ. We must run our race. We must constantly check in with the Holy Spirit to make sure we are still on the right course and are not running our race in vain. Run your race!

Who told you that?

And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?” Genesis 3:11 KJV

When God breathed into Adam the breath of life, you can imagine Adam waking up to the loving and gentle voice of God. We would assume that they had a lot of conversations, as God was excitedly introducing the rest of creation to Adam while they walked together in the garden. As a loving Father to His son, God did not just tell Adam the things that he was allowed to do and enjoy, but He also gave him one important and prohibitive command: to not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. To Adam, the words of God were all he needed to hear and obey.

But then came the alluring words of the serpent tempting Eve and, consequently, Adam. Suddenly, God's voice was not the only one; it started to sound like just another option. Adam and Eve chose to listen to another voice, fell into sin, and went into hiding because they realized they were naked. But God never said that their nakedness was ever a problem. The problem was that they chose to listen to the serpent and forsook God's commandment. So God asked, "Who told you that you're naked?" Since that time until now, man has been struggling to answer that resounding question.

"Who told you that wealth is what makes you happy?"

"Who told you that you need man's approval to feel you're valuable?"

"Who told you that you have to be like that to find your identity?"

Beloved, every day we are confronted with different voices that will dictate who you are and your worth. Know that the only voice that can tell you your true identity and value is that of the One Who created us all, our Heavenly Father. The world's voice will only sow fear, insecurity, and anxiety. We must silence other voices and listen to only God through His word and His Church. Who told you that that's who you are? To God, you are priceless.

Prayer point: Heavenly Father, thank You for treating me with so much value. Please help me to silence the enemy's voice so that I may listen to You. Teach me to be sensitive to Your voice and Your leading. Amen!
