🚨 Public Assistance Requested – Stolen Tow Truck 🚨

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating a green 2001 Ford F-550 rollback tow truck that was stolen from State Highway 41 in the Town of Smithville.

The vehicle was stolen on August 4, 2026, at approximately 12:25 a.m. It was last seen traveling south on County Road 2 in Smithville.

If you have any information regarding this incident or the location of the vehicle, please contact the Chenango County Sheriff's Office at 607-334-2000.

Can you cut into spray foam without killing the v***r barrier? Here's what you need to know. ✂️

Closed-cell foam creates a v***r barrier through its entire thickness — not just the outer skin. So cutting into it does reduce the barrier at that spot, but it doesn't eliminate it. The foam is still working. But here's the key: closed cell must be at least 1.5 inches thick to qualify as a v***r barrier. Below that, you don't have the perm rating you need. Bottom line: use closed cell at 1.5 inches or more in moisture-sensitive areas and you're protected.

Because the cells in closed-cell foam are completely sealed, water v***r can't pass through like it can with open-cell or fiberglass. That means no condensation, no mold, no rot. If you're doing a basement, crawl space, or exterior wall in a cold climate, this matters a lot. It's one of the biggest reasons we recommend closed-cell for most projects.
