What an incredible turnout at the 2026 College and Career Night at the Clay County Fairgrounds! We had a highly successful evening meeting with eager high school juniors, seniors, and their families as they explored their post-graduation pathways. It was absolutely wonderful to connect face-to-face with the bright youth in our community. Whether their next steps are to enroll, enlist, or step straight into the workforce, hearing about their ambitious goals and helping them chart their futures was truly inspiring. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, ask questions, and share their plans.

When two massive structural support columns buckled on the 21st floor of a Midtown Manhattan high-rise (the former Pfizer Headquarters), the situation was incredibly dangerous. Falling bricks and sagging floors forced the FDNY to evacuate nine surrounding buildings and establish a multi-block collapse zone.

The major challenge: It was simply too dangerous to send structural engineers inside an actively shifting building to assess the damage.

The solution: Specialized Drones. 🚁

Here is a look at exactly why drones are becoming an essential, life-saving tool in emergency response and what they achieved during this crisis:

Zero Human Risk: Instead of sending crews into harm's way, drones served as a continuous "eye in the sky." They monitored the building's macro-movements safely from a distance.

Pinpoint Accuracy: The specialized tools allowed emergency officials to track the continuous shifting of the building down to the centimeter.

Interior & Exterior Access: Pilots navigated a drone directly inside the damaged structure to scan the sagging floors and bent steel. Meanwhile, exterior drones captured 360-degree, high-resolution images of external stress points and shattered glass.

Preventing Catastrophe: The structural data gathered by the drones helped the FDNY confirm the failure would be a "localized collapse" restricted to floors 21-26, rather than a progressive collapse of the entire 37-story tower.

Crucial Pre-Checks: Drone footage allowed inspectors to safely analyze how the weight of a newly constructed residential addition was deflecting the beams below.

The Outcome: By late Tuesday evening, drone observations combined with on-site sensors confirmed that the building's movement had completely paused. Because of this vital data, a highly monitored team of workers was finally cleared to safely enter and begin emergency structural stabilization repairs.

A massive shoutout to the FDNY and the incredible technology helping them keep the public—and the first responders—safe! 👏🏙️
