We aren't saying goodbye to summer yet! Last week our staff enjoyed the evening at Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay for our annual company picnic. From endless rides to smoked meats prepared on site by our very own Jim Kobe and Ben Metz, we enjoyed the day and our time together with our families.

We can officially mark Green Bay's second annual She Builds Construction Camp a success! Sponsored by the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin, this free three-day camp for middle-school aged girls provides hands-on learning experiences in construction and exposed participants to careers in the industry. Day 1 of Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin’s Green Bay She Builds summer camp is in the books!

In the FREE, three-day camp, middle school aged girls get the opportunity to learn about careers in construction with first hand experiences. We kicked off with the day with stretch and flex, a lesson in the importance of safety, and putting together their own pull planning board to schedule the week. The day finished with a trip to Somerville Architects & Engineers for a day-in-the-life of architects, engineers, and designers, and followed with an active site tour of a local elementary school under construction.

It is opportunities like these that make Immel Construction proud to be a part of - sharing our knowledge with young women in our communities interested in construction and partnering with other exceptional firms in the Green Bay area.

Construction is moving forward for the Perimeter Solutions Green Bay facility expansion where the Immel team has been hard at work on the foundations and slab for a new bulk tank storage addition and blend tank expansion.

Our crew recently completed a 122-cubic-yard concrete pour, helping lay the groundwork for the building addition.💡 Fun fact: 122 cubic yards of concrete weighs approximately 488,000 pounds (equivalent to 120 average-sized cars!) and would cover an entire football field in a quarter inch of concrete!

With the project on track for completion by the end of the year, we're excited to see continued progress and bring this expansion one step closer to the end zone.

Building futures goes beyond construction. Project Manager Cole Butler spent the morning mentoring a youth intern from the College of Menominee Nation who is interested in pursuing a career in the trades. Cole gave a firsthand look at both project management and skilled trades work, walking through a typical day on the job, touring the College of Menominee Nation Neopit Outreach Center renovation, and answering questions about various trade careers.

Work on the College of Menominee Nation Neopit Outreach Center renovation continues to move forward. Demolition, underground plumbing, wall framing, and rough-ins are complete, with drywall finishing and exterior canopy work progressing. Upcoming milestones include painting, ceiling grid installation, flooring, mechanical and electrical finishes, and final interior installations as the project advances toward completion later this summer.

Congratulations to our own Laura Hruby, Estimator, on her graduation from Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin's 2025-26 Leadership Program!

Leadership AGC is a year-long program that develops emerging leaders in the construction industry through a kick-off retreat, monthly training sessions, team projects, and networking opportunities. Participants gain industry knowledge, strengthen leadership skills, and prepare for leadership roles within their companies and the industry.

Laura celebrated her program completion with a graduation ceremony this past week at the AGC of Wisconsin Summer Membership Meeting.

TJ will utilize his expertise to lead all aspects of our self-perform concrete operations, ensuring the work is completed safely, on schedule, and in alignment with Immel's quality standards. He also plays a key role in mentoring the next generation of leaders and craftworkers in our industry. Congratulations, TJ!

Big things are happening in Neenah, Wisconsin! Gunderson Uniform & Linen Rental has officially broken ground on their new facility, transferring their operations to the Neenah community after nearly 75 years in Menasha.

This 65,000 square foot project represents a significant investment in Gunderson's future and continued commitment to serving healthcare, hospitality, food service, and industrial customers throughout Wisconsin.
