Corrosion does not always start with a leak.
Sometimes, the problem is simply what has been sharing the air.
Pool chemicals stored in an equipment room, garage, or enclosed space can affect far more than the container they are sitting in. Electrical equipment, fasteners, structural hardware, and other metal components may all be exposed to the same environment.
A fan spinning on the wall does not necessarily mean the problem has been solved.
Ventilation is not just where the fan is.
It is where the air goes.
This week on The Pool Envy® Podcast, we look at chemical storage, ventilation, leaking containers, damaged shock bags, and some of the less-obvious causes of corrosion around swimming pools.

The accident may last seconds. What happens after can last years.

A routine logbook can become a timeline.
A temporary repair can become a decision.
An old inspection can suddenly be read very differently.

This week on The Pool Envy® Podcast, we are not talking about how an accident happens.

We are talking about what happens after and why understanding that process should change some of the decisions made before anything ever goes wrong.

Not paranoia. Habit.

After the Accident, the Pool Is Evidence.

New episode: Texas Pool Electrical Work: The RAIL License We Don’t Talk About Enough

Replacing a pool pump, heater, automation system, light, or other electrical equipment isn’t simply “pool work” in Texas.

Texas has a specific licensing structure for residential appliance installation, including certain pool-related electrical work. The Residential Appliance Installer License — commonly called the RAIL — has defined authority, and it also has limits. TDLR specifically addresses work involving pool pumps, motors, heaters, automation, GFCIs, underwater lights, and related equipment.

In this episode of The Pool Envy® Podcast, we look at where that authority begins, where it ends, and why contractors and pool owners should understand the distinction before electrical work begins.

This isn’t about making electrical licensing complicated. It’s about knowing who is authorized to do what.

Trust, but verify.

Sometimes the most important tile on the job is the one you pull back off.

Coverage isn’t something we assume because the mortar looked right going on. This one came back off so we could see what was actually happening behind the tile.

Standards, not suggestions.
