Here's something most homeowners don't consider when ordering a new roof. Most homeowners are concerned about the initial cost of their new roof and its appearance. Those are valid concerns. However, most don't consider the long-term cost or how often they'll be inconvenienced by the reroofing process if they get a cheap roof. Most don't realize that a more durable roof will last longer, cost less in the long term, and need to be replaced less frequently. For example, a traditional asphalt shingle roof will last between 15 and 25 years. A metal roof, on the other hand, will last 3 times as long and cost less over its lifetime. That also means fewer reroofs.
