Installing pendant lights over a kitchen island? Hang them 30 to 36 inches above the countertop. This range gives you focused task lighting without blocking sightlines or bumping your head when you lean in.

Too high and the light spreads wide but doesn't reach the workspace where you're chopping or prepping. Too low and they get in the way or create glare.

It's a simple measurement that changes how functional your kitchen feels every time you're cooking or gathering around the island.

Need a hand with lighting or other kitchen upgrades? Call us at 970-652-0511.

When we're repairing or building decks, we always check the support posts and joists for rot first. Even if the surface boards look fine, hidden rot in the structure can lead to safety issues down the line. Catching it early saves you from a full rebuild and keeps your deck solid for years.

Caring for your wooden deck? Skip the power washer and metal tools. Use a soft brush with a gentle wood cleaner instead to avoid damaging the surface and fibers. It keeps your deck looking good longer and protects the finish from wear that leads to costly repairs down the road.
