What does it look like when 3D concrete printing begins scaling beyond pilot projects and into national commercial deployment?

Tom's Hardware recently visited the Alquist HQ to learn more about how our A1X robotic printing system is supporting Walmart expansion projects nationwide while helping reduce build timelines, streamline labor needs and minimize material waste.

It’s exciting to see the conversation around construction innovation shift from what’s possible to what’s already happening.

3D printing a building now takes days, not weeks.

Remember when robots looked like this?

For a while, that’s what “the future” looked like.
Now, the future is on job sites.

The A1 Series is designed to bring robotics into real construction environments, where speed, consistency and scale actually matter.

From the A1, built to support workforce training and education programs, to the A1X, engineered for large-scale commercial builds, these systems are designed to perform in real-world conditions, not controlled demos.

Powered by our proprietary software and deployed alongside partners across robotics, materials and construction, the A1 Series is built to make 3D construction printing repeatable across projects and regions.

This is a new way to build.

For years, 3D construction printing has been viewed as a promising experiment.

This is the moment it starts to scale.

Today, Alquist announced the launch of its new A1 Series robotic arm systems, alongside the sale of 14 3D construction printing robots, one of the largest known deployments in the U.S.

More importantly, this marks a shift in how construction gets delivered.

Through a first-of-its-kind partnership model with Walmart, Hugg & Hall Equipment, FMGI, KUKA and Sika, 3D construction printing is moving beyond one-off builds and into a repeatable, scalable system.

This is about a new model for building, one that addresses labor shortages, reduces waste and enables faster delivery at scale.

The future of construction isn’t coming.
It’s being deployed.

The future of construction isn’t coming. It’s already here.

Alquist’s 3D concrete printing curriculum, developed in partnership with Aims Community College, is designed as a gateway into one of the most innovative and rapidly evolving trades in the industry.

This fully online, self-paced certificate course introduces the technology, materials and processes behind 3D construction printing. It prepares students to step into careers focused on sustainability, efficiency and next-generation building methods.

Courses begin the first Monday of every month, so you can start when you’re ready.

Precision happens layer by layer.

On site, every pass of the printer is checked, measured and refined in real time. It’s how we ensure each structure performs as designed, from the first lift to the final form.

With 3D printing, innovation isn’t just about speed. It’s about building smarter, with accuracy you can see in every layer.

The future of construction is being built in the classroom.

Alquist is expanding its national workforce development initiative through new higher education partnerships with Rio Salado College in Arizona and the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

By integrating Alquist’s A1 3D construction printing system and a 60-hour 3DCP curriculum directly into academic programs, students gain hands-on experience with the robotics, software and processes shaping the next generation of construction.

As 3D construction printing continues to scale nationwide, building the workforce behind the technology is just as important as advancing the technology itself.

Appreciate The Denver Gazette for the in-depth profile on Alquist and our founder, Zachary Mannheimer.

The piece highlights the journey from community development work across the country to launching Alquist in 2020 with a clear focus: solving the housing and construction challenges holding communities back. That vision has since evolved into scaling 3D construction printing across residential and commercial projects, including our expanding work with Walmart and partners nationwide.

It also touches on why Colorado, and specifically Greeley, became home for Alquist — driven by long-term growth, industry collaboration and our partnership with Aims Community College to build the next generation of operators.

Grateful for the coverage and for the partners helping push this technology forward.

GREELEY • One might say that Zachary Mannheimer is a bit of a riverboat gambler — a calculated one, though.  As founder and chairman of Greeley-based Alquist 3D, Mannheimer didn’t follow the most conventional path into the world of 3D concrete printing (3DCP) for commercial and home construct...
