It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend, former colleague, and mastclimber champion, Kevin O’Shea.

Kevin was a huge part of Mastclimbers LLC in our early years and a driving force in the mast climbing industry worldwide. Over decades, he headed numerous committees, safety councils, and training initiatives through IPAF, SAIA, and OSHA, helping to shape the standards and culture that protect so many in our industry today.

For those of us who had the privilege to work alongside him, Kevin was more than just a safety leader—he was a storyteller, a singer, and the life of the room. Many of us have shared a drink with Kevin at the bar, listening to yet another tale of some hilarious catastrophe, misfortune, or unexpected outcome. Most of us had probably heard it before, but it didn’t matter—Kevin’s infectious personality made every telling as fresh and funny as the first.

He was a proud Scotsman, a mentor to many, and a friend to all. His warmth, humour, and passion for life brought people together wherever he went. The mastclimber world—and indeed all of us—are better for having known him.

Our deepest condolences go to his wife Alison, stepson Andrew, and his family.

Rest in peace, Kevin. You will be missed, but your laughter, your stories, and your impact will live on.

Members of our team enjoyed the SkillsUSA Georgia Championships and Expo this week held at the Georgia World Congress Center, and assisted in setting up the stage for the masonry competition sponsored by the Masonry Association of Georgia.

“SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. We help each student excel. SkillsUSA's mission is to empower its members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens.”

We are happy, and proud, to be able to participate in an event that encourages our youth to learn a trade and test their skills on the path to their careers!
