We’re honored to share that the TownePlace Suites and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Paris, Texas has received Marriott International’s Global Design 2026 Best Project Award — with Type Six Design & Development serving as the architect for this award-winning dual-brand hospitality project.

Developed by TEKMAK Development Company, this project was recognized among Marriott developments worldwide for excellence in architecture, design, construction quality, and collaboration. The Paris, Texas property received the award in the dual-brand category, highlighting the thoughtful integration of both TownePlace Suites and Fairfield Inn & Suites within one cohesive development.

At Type Six, we are grateful to collaborate with exceptional partners including TEKMAK Development Company, Nuance Interiors, Crossbill Construction Group, and Marriott’s development teams to create hospitality environments that balance brand identity, guest experience, and operational efficiency.

This recognition reflects the power of strong partnerships and thoughtful design, and we are thankful to everyone involved in bringing this project to life.

We’re excited to see Lumis, a globally inspired cocktail lounge, coming to The Seam in Dallas’ Design District — one of the city’s most anticipated mixed-use developments.

Our team recently toured Steel Tech, where we got an inside look at how advanced engineering software and highly automated robotic systems are used to design and manufacture cold-formed steel structures. From custom light-gauge steel studs to fully pre-fabricated load-bearing framing panels, trusses, and wall partitions, the process showcased a smart, efficient approach to modern construction.

Experiences like this help our architects design more informed, buildable solutions — strengthening the connection between design intent and construction ex*****on. Our team walked away having learned a lot and inspired by the innovation shaping the future of building.
