A guest room usually gets whatever paint was left over from the rest of the house. That is why it always feels like the room nobody thought about.

We gave this one a deep, saturated blue that actually holds up under a ceiling fan light, with clean white crown molding running the perimeter to frame it. Color this strong shows every roller mark and every wobbly cut line, so the finish has to be even from corner to corner. Done right, the guest room stops being the leftover space and starts being the one people mention.

Two different siding profiles on one wall is where a lot of exterior jobs go wrong. Shingle up top, lap below, and paint behaves differently on each one.

We coated both in the same soft blue-grey so the elevation reads as one house, kept the trim and the belt line bright white to hold the separation, and worked the finish tight against the brick foundation without a wandering line. Licensed and insured, working off ladders on a two-story gable, so the risk stays with us and not with the homeowner.

Cream walls do not look dated until you see them next to fresh white. Then it is obvious how much light the old color was absorbing.

We took this room to a clean bright white on the walls and ceiling, which bounces the natural light coming through those sliders instead of soaking it up. Same windows, same floor plan, and the space reads noticeably bigger. Paint is still the cheapest square-footage upgrade there is.

Look at the siding on the left side of this photo. That cracking and flaking is what happens when an exterior goes too long, and it is not a paint problem at that point. It is a moisture problem waiting to become a wood problem.

Our exterior service starts where the damage is: wash, scrape back the failing layers, prime the bare wood, and repair anything soft before we spray. Then a weather-resistant coat goes on evenly across the whole elevation. Spraying is fast, but only after the prep is done right. Skip that part and you are repainting in two years.

We brought this little house back with a clean light blue and bright white trim, working the siding, the eaves, and the window casings so the whole elevation matches instead of just the front. A lot of quotes cover the street-facing side and leave the rest. We do not work that way. Twenty plus years in New Bern is built on homeowners who noticed the difference.

Brick homes are the ones most people assume do not need a painter. Then the trim, soffits, and shutters start chalking and the whole house looks tired while the brick still looks fine.

On a house like this the trim is doing all the work. We put a warm olive on the fascia, gable returns, and shutters so the color pulls from the brick tone instead of fighting it, and sealed every board against the moisture that comes with a shaded, wooded lot. Hundreds of completed projects around New Bern, and plenty of them are brick.

A small bathroom in a pale grey usually just reads unfinished. There is not enough square footage for a light neutral to do anything, so the room ends up feeling like a hallway with a sink.
