This tree was topped decades ago when it was considering an appropriate pruning practice.
The large amounts of rot in the trunk and branches are major results of that, on a already dacay prone tree.

Why is April 4th so special to Finley’s Tree Service?

Today is Robert (Bob) Finley’s birthday! This is the man that instilled in us our work ethic and values. His willingness to serve and help others is always astounding. “He will give you the shirt off his back” -and the last two cents in his pocket. 😆
The business name Finley’s Tree Service was encouraged because of his references to Proverbs 22:1 and what we believe the Finley name has become. Finley’s Tree Service in idaho was established on April 4th as a tribute this legend.

We’re excited to announce that the 2026 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will come from Idaho.

For the first time, the 2026 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will be provided by the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. The tree will stand on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., continuing a 56-year tradition of national forests sharing the People’s Tree with the nation during the holiday season.

Over the coming year, communities across Idaho will celebrate the selection through local events and activities leading up to the tree’s journey to the U.S. Capitol.

Follow along as we share more about the forests, communities, and partners behind the 2026 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree.
