Back to school… DHE edition!

The backpacks may be gone, the lunchboxes have changed, and the homework looks a little different these days, but some of our team members have been working toward big things for a long time. 😉

We dug into the archives and found a few of our team members back in their school days. Swipe through and see if you can match the kid to the DHE team member!

One thing is for sure: we’ve come a long way from recess, spelling tests, and school pictures.

Here’s to a new school year, new beginnings, and all the future plumbers, engineers, builders, and problem-solvers sitting in classrooms today. Who knows? Maybe one of them will be part of the DHE team someday!

Big things are taking shape at West Ottawa!

We’re proud to be part of the team bringing West Ottawa’s new state-of-the-art aquatic center to life, providing both the plumbing and HVAC systems for this incredible facility.

Designed for competitive swimming, diving, athletics, and year-round community programming, the center will feature a 9-lane, 50-meter competition pool, a dedicated diving well, seating for nearly 1,200 spectators, a suspended walking track, fitness space, and more.

And behind all of that is some pretty impressive mechanical work.

💧 The pool’s filtration and UV treatment system will process nearly 900,000 gallons of water every six hours.

🌡️ A specialized dehumidification system will control humidity, condition the air, and recover energy, critical in a large natatorium where maintaining the right environment is a challenge of its own.

Projects like this are a great reminder that what you see is only part of the story. The systems behind the walls are what help make a facility like this comfortable, efficient, and ready to serve the community for years to come.

We’re excited to see this one continue to take shape and proud to play a part in bringing a facility of this scale to the Lakeshore.

We were proud to be part of the beam signing for the Amway Stadium, marking a major milestone in bringing this incredible space to life here in Grand Rapids.

This is more than just a construction project. It’s an investment in the community. A place that will bring people together, create lasting memories, and add something truly special to the city for years to come.

Being part of a project of this scale takes collaboration, coordination, and a team committed to getting every detail right. We’re grateful to play a role alongside so many talented partners.

Grand Rapids, we can’t wait to see this one come to life!

A few fun facts about our team and their connection to the game:
• Soccer runs deep here—one of the Heyboer sisters, Laura, played professionally in the MLS
• Many of our team members (yes, even leadership) are still playing indoor soccer in their 40s
• We’re proud supporters of the Rangers Soccer program, sponsoring jerseys from youth teams all the way to their semi-pro team

Huge shoutout to our guys Andrew and Sam for investing in the next wave of Plumbing Apprentices at WMCI. The extra hours hours they put in doesn't only impact our team at DHE but the Merit shop industry as a whole.

Congratulations to Andrew as well as he was announced as the 2025-2026 WMCI Instructor of the Year!
