🌱 Why Does GrowSzn Sow Seeds Every Other Day? 🌱

Because gardening isn’t a race—it’s a relationship.

One of our favorite gardening practices is called succession planting. Instead of planting all of our seeds at once, we sow small amounts throughout the season. Sometimes that means dropping a few seeds into the garden every other day.

Why?

🌿 It keeps the harvest coming longer.
🌿 It spreads out the work into manageable steps.
🌿 It gives us a chance to replace seeds that didn’t sprout.
🌿 It helps families stay connected to their garden throughout the season.
🌿 It creates more opportunities for children to participate and learn.

Every seed may not sprout, but the initiative is there. Every seed planted is an act of hope, patience, and intention. The garden teaches us that growth doesn’t always happen the way we expect, but showing up consistently still matters.

Not every plant takes from the soil. Some crops actually help improve it, making your garden stronger for future harvests.

A Specialized Postpartum Service

Placenta Garden Integration has been a part of GrowSzn’s postpartum offerings and continues to be available for birthing persons who choose this service.

Placenta Garden Integration is a unique service offered by GrowSzn for birthing persons who wish to have their placenta transformed into a living herb garden.

Your placenta helped nourish life. Through this service, it can continue supporting growth by being integrated into soil used to cultivate a living plant that can be cared for and enjoyed long after birth.

This is not placenta encapsulation. GrowSzn does not offer placenta encapsulation or placenta consumption services.

This is also not a training, coaching, or educational program on placenta processing. GrowSzn does not teach families, doulas, gardeners, or community members how to perform Placenta Garden Integration.

This service is performed exclusively by GrowSzn for eligible birthing persons who have their own placenta available for integration.

2. Arrange placenta pick-up.
3. Submit payment at pick-up.
4. GrowSzn completes the Placenta Garden Integration service.
5. Receive your completed Placenta Garden.

Even with all the rain, cooler temperatures, and cloudy days… don’t be discouraged, Zone 6a growers. 🌱

This growing season is going to look different for a lot of us this year.

Some plants may take a little longer.
Some gardens may move slower than expected.
But that does NOT mean your garden is failing.

The seeds are still pushing through the soil.
The roots are still developing underground.
Growth is still happening.

Nature has its own timing, and every season teaches us something new.

Be patient with your garden.
Be patient with yourself.
And appreciate the season you’re in. 💚

Our Black Parent Cafés are monthly gatherings created by and for Black parents and caregivers in Grand Rapids to connect, share, and support one another. These gatherings provide a space to explore parental resilience, build relationships, and strengthen community while enjoying a shared meal. In a welcoming, judgment-free environment, parents can exchange experiences, access resources, and focus on their well-being. Free snacks and dinner are provided, and children are welcome with a designated play area available.
