🌿 MEET GROWSZN | ROOTED IN 49507

GrowSzn LLC is a Black-owned community-centered business rooted in the heart of Southeast Grand Rapids, Michigan. We bring together gardening education, postpartum family support, and community food access to help families grow, learn, and thrive.

🥬 GROWSZN HARVEST BOXES & FOOD ACCESS

Our harvest boxes feature fresh, seasonal food grown with care. These boxes offer families an opportunity to add fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs to their tables.

GrowSzn does not sell food. Our harvests are shared through community care, donations, and mutual exchange. Donations are highly encouraged and help cover seeds, soil, growing supplies, and future harvests. Food access should never be a luxury.

🤎 POSTPARTUM FAMILY SUPPORT & GROWING EDUCATION

We teach postpartum families how to grow their own fruits, vegetables, and herbs, building practical skills that can support their households throughout the fourth trimester and beyond.

🌱 GARDENING EDUCATION & WORKSHOPS
Hands-on growing education, garden planning, planting support, and family-centered learning.

🪴 PLANT CARE & GREENERY
Plant maintenance, repotting, propagation, and custom terrariums for homes and businesses.

🌼 FLOWERS & COMMUNITY PROJECTS
Seasonal bouquets and growing projects that bring more beauty and connection into our community.

Hey friends I want to talk a little more about why GrowSzn thrives off donations.

GrowSzn Does Not Sale Produce because we believe nutritious food is a birthright, not a luxury. We don’t want someone’s ability to eat fresh, nourishing food to depend on what’s sitting in their bank account that day.

But that does not mean the food has no value.

Quite the opposite‼️

The food we grow takes seeds, soil, compost, water, time, labor, knowledge, love, and a whole lot of tending. There is real value in that.👌🏾

That’s why we use suggested donations.

A suggested donation gives people something to work with. It allows you to strategically budget, understand what it takes to grow and provide this food, and contribute when and how you’re able.

And here’s the beautiful part:🫶🏾

Not every donation has to be the same.
Someone may give .50cents
Someone may give $5.
Someone may give $20.
Someone may give $50.
Someone may not be able to give anything at all.

And we understand that 💯

When we allow everyone to participate according to their capacity, the community creates the balance. Bigger donations can help make room for smaller ones. Someone else’s abundance can help cover a moment when someone else simply doesn’t have the capacity.

That is kind community care.

We aren’t asking you to buy your food from us.

We are inviting you to help sustain the system that makes it possible for us to keep growing and sharing it. 🌱

Your donation helps us to keep putting fresh food into the hands of our neighbors.

So when you see a suggested donation, don’t think:

“That’s the price of this food.”

Think:

“This is what it can take to keep this work growing.”

Give what you can. Receive what you need.
And together, we keep the cycle going. 💚🌱

Food has value. Community has value. And neither should be reserved only for those who can afford the most.
