As the wraps up today, one takeaway stands out: growers are actively looking for ways to control energy costs and strengthen their operations for the long term. For Alamo Valley Solar, the conversations this week confirmed how quickly solar and storage are becoming core infrastructure for farms, not optional add-ons.

From cold storage expansion to irrigation demands, energy reliability is top of mind for producers. The interest we saw this week shows that farms are ready to invest in solutions that provide stability, predictability, and sustainability.

If you didn’t get a chance to stop by or are heading home with questions about what solar could do for your operation, we’re here to continue the conversation. The EXPO may be ending today, but the opportunity to future-proof your farm is just getting started.

The conversations we started months ago are more important than ever.

Earlier this year, Michael Cooper with AVS sat down with Chuck Lippstreau, President of the Michigan Agri-Business Association, to talk about the massive opportunities created by the 2025 federal solar tax credit upgrade. Their discussion broke down how these new incentives make solar more affordable, strengthen local economies, and help agri-businesses protect themselves from rising energy costs.

As we take that message to the Great Lakes EXPO this week with two presentations by Alamo Valley Solar, the urgency — and the opportunity — has only grown.

Growers and ag professionals are telling us the same thing: they’re looking for practical, cost-saving solutions that protect their operations for the long term. These upgraded federal incentives are making that possible in a way we’ve never seen before.

If you’re at the Great Lakes Expo, come by and let’s pick up the conversation. Stop by our booth 839 for a chance to win an RTIC cooler!

We’re here to help agri-businesses turn rising costs into lasting savings — and to make energy independence an achievable goal for farms across the region.

Join us at the Great Lakes EXPO this week! Michael Cooper of Alamo Valley Solar will be presenting “Don’t Leave Millions on the Table: Get Expiring Federal Solar Tax Credits Now” twice on Tuesday, December 9, at 10:15 AM and 10:45 AM.

The federal solar ITC expires July 3, 2026, giving growers and agribusinesses a short window to secure up to 50 percent in total incentives. In this fast, no-fluff session, you’ll learn how to use IRS Safe Harbor rules and how to lock in federal dollars before they disappear, all while setting up long-term savings with solar PV.

We’ll also be giving away an RTIC cooler to one attendee. Make sure to stop by, learn how much you can save, and enter the giveaway. Booth 839!
