If you notice shiny white fiberglass showing on your shingles, it’s usually a sign your roof is nearing the end of its lifespan.
As shingles age, the protective asphalt coating wears away, exposing the fiberglass mat underneath. Once that happens, the shingles become much more vulnerable to weather, UV damage, and leaks.
It doesn’t always mean you need a new roof immediately, but it is a good indication that it’s time to have it inspected and start planning for replacement.
