Progress Update: A Punta Gorda, FL, landmark is back on the water.

Rockford recently completed the transformation of a former restaurant property at Fishermen's Village, bringing new life to a destination that has long been part of the community’s waterfront identity.

The project included complete interior renovation, reconstruction of the surrounding dock system and the creation of two reimagined restaurant concepts: Castaways Punta Gorda and Latitude 26 Punta Gorda. From marine construction and hurricane recovery efforts to elevated finishes, expansive outdoor decks and sweeping waterfront views, the project transforms a beloved local destination into a renewed gathering place for residents and visitors alike.

Earlier this week, we joined the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, project partners and local supporters to celebrate the groundbreaking for the theater rebuild project. This marks a meaningful milestone for an important community asset.

We're grateful for the opportunity to help restore this historic space and create a renewed destination for community events, performances and gatherings. As construction begins, a new chapter starts for a place that has long served as a cultural and civic cornerstone of the community. Once complete, the revitalized theater will once again serve as a vibrant gathering place.

Project update! Superintendent Adam Koorndyk recently gave us a behind-the-scenes look at progress on the 350,000 sq. ft. West End expansion at Beacon Hill at Eastgate. This summer, the team has completed footings, foundations and post-tension stacks, marking a major milestone as this exciting addition continues to take shape.

When complete, the project will add 101 independent living residences, an indoor terrarium walking bridge connecting West End to the main campus, expanded green spaces and enhanced access to walking paths, gardens, pickleball courts and The Grove Performance Park.

This project is more than an expansion. It's an investment in creating new opportunities for residents to connect, stay active and enjoy an enhanced quality of life.

Last week, Rockford team members joined in BAMF Health's 108 Walk in support of prostate cancer awareness.

The event was a great opportunity to come together around an important cause, honor those impacted by the disease and demonstrate the power of community. We're grateful to have been part of an evening that connected people through a shared commitment to support, awareness and wellness.

There's still time to participate in BAMF Health's 108-Mile Challenge throughout September. Whether you're walking with coworkers, exercising with family or logging a few extra miles on your own, every step helps raise awareness and shows support for those affected by prostate cancer.

Exciting things are happening along the riverfront! Rockford joined the community for the unveiling of a new mural celebrating Grand Rapids' newly rebranded River North District. Formerly known as North Monroe, the area now reflects its transformation from industrial and warehouse roots into a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood, while maintaining its strong connection to the Grand River.
