Our GDA Contractors crews are in action, putting their waterproofing training and experience to work in the field! 👷

What you see on the jobsite starts with the training our teams receive behind the scenes. From understanding the waterproofing systems and materials they work with to following safe work practices, ongoing training helps make sure our crews are prepared for the job ahead.

That preparation shows in the field, where our teams stay focused on working safely, looking out for one another, and getting the job done right. 💪

Pavers may be one of the more visible parts of a finished project, but there’s a lot that goes into getting them right. 🧱

From plazas and walkways to terraces and other exterior spaces, paver systems have to work hand in hand with the waterproofing and drainage systems below. That means paying close attention to everything from preparation and placement to the details that help the entire system perform the way it should.

At GDA Contractors, our crews have the experience and technical knowledge to handle paver installation as part of the overall building envelope system. It’s another area where our team’s skill and attention to detail make a difference in the finished work. 💧

We’re shining a spotlight on GDA Contractors’ work at the UT Tyler School of Medicine in East Texas! 🏥

As the first medical school in East Texas, the UT Tyler School of Medicine was created to help expand medical education, research, and patient care throughout the region.

GDA Contractors’ team worked across several key areas of the building envelope on this project, completing firestopping, joint sealants, metal flashing, expansion joints, below grade waterproofing, and air barrier. 🚧

A big thank you to the GDA crews who worked hard on this project. 👏 We’re proud of the work our team completed and grateful for the opportunity to be part of a project that will serve East Texas for years to come.

The GDA Contractors team has been out and about lately, catching up with industry friends, enjoying some friendly competition, and supporting some great causes along the way! 🤝

Our team took part in the TEXO, The Construction Association Foundation Challenge Cup Clay Shoot, with proceeds benefiting the TEXO Foundation. The friendly competition continued on the golf course, where Konnor Stephenson and Thomas joined Austin Commercial for the E.V. Brown Memorial Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament benefited the Texas Health Resources Foundation and Methodist Health System Foundation. ⛳

We also headed to Galveston for American Subcontractors Association - Houston Chapter (ASA-HC) Fiesta on the Beach during the AIA Sandcastle Festival, where Allen Poole, Diego Gomez, and Mariano Garcia joined in on the fun. Between the sandcastles and time spent catching up with industry friends, it was a great day at the beach.

Allen Poole and the Houston team joined in on the ASA Fishing Tournament, which helps support and connect military veterans working in commercial construction. A portion of this year’s proceeds also benefited Camp Hope Houston. 🎣

And we can’t forget our Austin team, who took first place at the American Subcontractors Association of Austin, Texas Annual Bowling Tournament! Way to go, team!

It’s been a busy few weeks, and we’ve enjoyed every opportunity to get out, spend time with our industry partners, give back, and have a little fun along the way.

After 25 years with GDA Contractors, we’re wishing Andy Bautz, Vice President, all the best as he begins a well-deserved retirement! 🎉

Andy joined GDA in 2001, when the company was operating out of a small converted house with locations in Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Albuquerque. A lot has changed since then. Today, GDA has grown to eight offices, taken on larger and more complex projects, and continued to invest in safety, training, and, most importantly, its people.

Looking back at where GDA was when he started and where the company is today, Andy shared:

“To have played a part in our growth these past 25 years is something that I am very proud of and know that the future is bright for GDA.”

Along with watching GDA grow, it’s the people, relationships, projects, and plenty of great memories over the years that stand out to Andy. He’s especially grateful for the opportunity to have worked so closely with GDA Chief Executive Officer Dan Cain, who Andy describes not only as a coworker and mentor, but also as someone he’s proud to call a friend. 🤝

As Andy begins this next chapter, he’s looking forward to spending more time with family, traveling, staying active, finding ways to give back, and enjoying some new adventures. He says he’ll definitely miss the day-to-day interactions with the people at GDA.

Andy, thank you for 25 incredible years and for everything you’ve brought to GDA Contractors. We’re grateful you’ve been such an important part of our story and wish you nothing but the best in retirement. 🌟

We’re shining a spotlight on our work at the Albuquerque International Sunport, New Mexico’s largest commercial airport! ✈️

Welcoming more than 5 million passengers each year, the Sunport is an important transportation hub for Albuquerque and travelers throughout the region. As part of the terminal improvements project, GDA Contractors’ scope of work included traffic coating and expansion joints, with our team bringing the experience and attention to detail these specialized systems require.

A big thank you to our GDA crews who worked hard on this project. Their skill, dedication, and attention to detail helped get the job done right! 👷👏
