Major paver patio project mostly completed... Owner wanted to increase usable space of the back so he thought removing the deck and installing a new base on the ground would improve the function. I agree with his idea and it also provided more privacy from the neighbors both sides now that they are 3' lower down the privacy fences. Now we're waiting for the painter and pergola installer to complete the entire patio package.

I'm pleased how this project turned out with the difficult access point and being creative with removing and bringing in new materials. Drainage was also another major factor in the design. I decided to make it more level from house to the back garden wall while making half of the patio slope to either side of the house into buried french drains tied into existing drainage pipes to ensure water will not seep into the house foundation.

Another gravel project completed! We made a quick trip to Laramie, WY to visit a friend and to help her redo the back alley parking for her business. She wanted to have a more professional looking parking in the back so clients could easily and safely park in the spot and access her office in the back building.

I contracted with a local construction company to dig up the dirt, take it away, and place roadbase back in while providing oversight on the landscaping side of things. There are large tree roots protruding in the area and I preserved it by manually digging up the area while they excavated the rest. This is why you want to contract with an experienced landscaping contractor to ensure the existing plants stay alive after the project is complete. Additionally, this time I called for only 5 inches of roadbase without the larger rock bases because it does not have a lot of water and exposure like the recent project which has constant water in the summer from the grass sprinkler system. I also repaired the access gate so it functions properly, enhancing the professionalism of the space... All part of the Fengscapes fun! 🤘 ☯

Then I got to ride Vedauwoo trails the next day. Fun trip to Laramie...

Gravel driveway project while giving the paver patio project a break... This consisted of 2 parts: 1) widening their original 9.5 foot wide gate to 14 foot wide so their RV can easily be driven up in there and 2) install Gravel driveway which has 6" layer of 3 inch aggregate rock, 3" layer of 1.5 inch aggregate rock, and finally 1" of 3/4" roadbase. This ensures the driveway will have long lasting drainage and structure. If you simply put the gravel on top of the grass, you will constantly address grass and ground heaving.

Day 2 progress: 12 hours in the books to maximize the usage of the equipment rental. All done with the equipment and tomorrow brings sand placement and start of placing pavers! Super excited! 🤘

Starting next project: install paver patio in the back... Materials (pavers, sand, and roadbase) delivered this morning and started clearing up entrance so that the mini skid steer can access tomorrow. Here's day 1 🤘 💪 ... Hope to complete by Saturday 🤞

This project called for durable stairway path for safer access to the cabin, drainage improvement to ensure stairway lasts a long time, and hand railings installed at the entrance steps for improved safety and appearance.
