The "Leash Cutting" to commemorate the Grand Opening of the Grand County Animal Shelter on Saturday, Sept. 26. MA Studios was the architect and a proud supporter of the project.

Admirers of the four-legged members of our community came out in good spirits to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Grand County Animal Shelter, made possible through Grand County Pet Pals fundraising efforts and a whole lot of love from the greater community. The event, Saturday, Sept. 26, included a walk with dogs beginning at the former Grand County Animal Shelter and ending at the new shelter near Kaibab Park, where a ceremony took place with speeches and a "Dog Leash Cutting" to celebrate the opening.
An MA Studios-designed new building has abundant natural light, outdoor dog runs and obstacle course, indoor/outdoor living for canines and felines, a veterinary space for shots and check-ups, a comfortable waiting area with peek-a-boo views of the cat-play area, and acoustic panels in the main holding area to absorb barks, offering quieter living quarters.
Principal J. Scott Munn's dad the late Jim Munn was a veterinarian, and for Scott, the firm's involvement in the project was a great honor for not only providing the community a much improved space for its adoptable pets, but also for the love of animals he experienced in his own upbringing.

On this beautiful autumn Friday, MA Studios Principal J. Scott Munn visited the Grand Spirit Makerspace building with his two children where the Wooden Boat School was working on building a paddle board. The afternoon brought opportunity to help build and stain the watercraft. It was a treat for Scott because not only is he the newest board member of the Wooden Boat School, but also MA Studios designed the town's Space To Create brand new artist in residence housing and Grand Spirit Makerspace building where this learning and creativity was taking place. 🫶 What an honor to experience it.
🎉The town and project stakeholders are hosting a Grand Opening of the project 📆 at 1 p.m., this Friday, 1128 Park Ave., Grand Lake, CO 80447, including a ribbon cutting and tours.

Exciting News! The American Institute of Architects of Colorado recommended an MA Studios project to be featured on the hit CBS series America ByDESIGN, a show that showcases outstanding design projects from across the state and beyond. The historic Grand Lake Yacht Club recently was renovated with new decks, a new commercial kitchen, bathrooms and other features. But most importantly, the foundational supports that have been holding up the building for longer than a century were reinforced and rebuilt to hold up the building for another century or longer. The America By Design team visited the Grand Lake Yacht Club September 1 to film MA Studios Principal J. Scott Munn, as well as Mark Bjerken of Chillcoots Construction, to find out more about this remarkable project. The building kept its historic appearance with all new materials and a profound sensitivity to its redesign. No word yet when the film will air, but will post as soon as we find out!

If you were there, and you may have missed us, it may be because Santa Claus on the Four-Wheeler was right behind us, and that Santa stole all of the attention 😂

MA Studios's latest photographed home. It's called Cloudwalk for it's spiral toward the sky to a loft tower, its light, airy and uncluttered beauty, and from its indoor spaces, its invitation to views of the quiet, snowy outdoors. We invite you to see more of this masterfully designed home

MA Studios enlisted our neighbor across-the-street and friends at New Mountain Design, Granby, to design a new (and long overdue) kitchenette for our newly renovated office space. The kitchenette is now much more functional and a space to be proud of, thanks to Jason, Sara and Emily. And the great installers from Chillcoots Construction made sure the job was completed beautifully. The countertops are a Primordia Ceasarstone, and the single basin undermount is a Blanco Silgranit Kitchen sink in a “truffle” color. The faucet is Kohler, Matte Black, single wheel handle with a pull-down spray.
