We're celebrating our win today: a Silver Award in Community Relations Excellence from the NSSGA. 🎉

The award recognizes our community involvement, including our social media presence, donations, educational efforts, media relations, advocacy efforts, and volunteer work.

Our application highlighted events like Dozer Day, contributions to important causes like Sundance Circle Hippotherapy and Lakewold Gardens, and volunteer work such as a food drive organized and executed by our King Creek Pit scale house operator Dustie.

Here's a close up of our Permeable Aggregate Base Course on site at Gig Harbor High School, which is also doing a field renovation right now.

Permeable Aggregate Base Course is a kind of 1 ¼" Minus. It contains coarser fines than your typical state-spec 1 ¼" Minus, making it more permeable than regular base course.

Breaking down the name makes it easier to understand:
Permeable = allows liquids to pass through
Aggregate = sand, gravel, or crushed rock (gravel or crushed rock in this case)
Base Course = the primary load-bearing layer of rock

In other words, it's a well-draining crushed rock product that is used to create stable bases for projects like synthetic turf fields.

It’s sports field construction season in the Pacific Northwest 🍂🏈 Washington Rock has been supplying Permeable Aggregates, E-Layer Stone, and Infill Sand to synthetic turf installs throughout the region, including Donald Eismann Elementary School in Bonney Lake, WA.

Check out some footage of the gravel base install at Eismann Elementary. The base is made up of layers of permeable aggregate base course and top course. Thank you to LJ for allowing us to film!

So far, over 50 retail stores in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho now carry Vermont Coop Sand! Our drying plant team is responsible for drying and bagging it and loading distributors' trucks.

We had a fantastic time at yesterday's Belgard Customer Appreciation Golf Tournament. We met a lot of great people, gave away some fun merch, and even tested the quality of our tent during a 5 PM downpour (it passed with flying colors).
