Yesterday, at the site of the former S**o Drive-In Movie Theater, we had the honor of breaking ground on our latest project — the new location for Hale Trailer in S**o, Maine.

We were joined by Peter Scontras, longtime S**o resident and volunteer City Historian, who paid homage to the property by sharing the history of the iconic drive-in and personal memories from his childhood spent there. We also heard welcoming remarks from the City of S**o's Economic Development Director, Tracey Desjardins, as she welcomed Hale Trailer to the local business community.

Hale Trailer representatives Dave Lockett and Neal Bangor spoke about their excitement for the New Jersey-based company’s next chapter here in Maine and the opportunities this new facility will bring to the region.

In all, memories were shared, partnerships were celebrated, and excitement filled the air as we officially kicked off a project that honors the past while building toward the future. Great Falls Construction is proud to partner with Hale Trailer and the project team on this exciting development, and we look forward to bringing this project to life.

Following our major milestone last November, when new passenger platforms and the pedestrian bridge were completed, Great Falls Construction has continued steady work on the Wells Area Transportation Improvement Project.

We’re excited to share that crews are now focused on the interior buildout of the stairwells and elevator shafts, while exterior siding installation is happening concurrently, marking another visible step forward on the project. This is a critical phase that will bring us closer to delivering a fully accessible and user-friendly station experience for Amtrak Downeaster riders. These upgrades are an important step toward safer, more convenient connections for the Wells community and beyond, while supporting increased service frequency in the future.

MSAD #51's newly named Carolyn F. Small School has made exciting progress since our last update! Steel is now rising on the educational neighborhood wings where future classrooms will take shape, bringing the building’s form and vision to life.
Meanwhile, at Mabel I. Wilson School addition, both interior and exterior work continues to move forward as planned. Step by step, these projects are coming together to support safe, modern and efficient learning environments for Cumberland & North Yarmouth, Maine's school community!

A few team members recently attended the Associated General Contractors of America’s Annual Conference in Orlando, gaining valuable insights into emerging industry trends and best practices. The conference also offered a great opportunity to connect with fellow Associated General Contractors of Maine members and celebrate the Chapter’s 75th anniversary. We’re proud to bring these experiences, connections, and momentum back to our team and the work we do every day!

Last week, our team gathered once again for our annual lookback, an annual tradition we value deeply. We celebrated the milestones of 2025 as department leaders shared key achievements and project teams reflected on their experiences throughout the year. It was an evening filled with appreciation, pride, and connection. Most importantly, we had the chance to pause together, reflect on how far we’ve come, and look ahead to what’s next.
