While bees can benefit the environment in many ways, it is inconvenient and possibly dangerous to let a bee hive thrive near your home.

It is important to properly identify the particular species living near your home, as bees are often mistaken for wasps due to their similar physical characteristics. There are different elimination processes for wasps and bees, so effective treatment relies upon proper identification. When using any method of bee control, it is also necessary to know effective application strategies, as well as the limitations and dangers associated with each method. In many regions, special licenses are required to treat infestations.

The only way to rid your home of bees is to remove the hive entirely. This precarious task requires the correct tools and strategy. For safety and efficiency purposes, a pest control expert should be consulted before any bee control technique is attempted.

Bed bugs are parasitic insects that feed exclusively on blood. The common bed bug found in Phoenix actually prefers to feed on human blood.

Bed bugs are mostly active at night and often go unnoticed as they feed on their hosts. However, after feeding, the raised bumps on the skin of the host resulting from the bed bug bites are usually the first sign of activity. Bed bugs multiply very quickly so early detection is crucial to preventing a larger infestation.

A number of adverse health effects may result from bed bug bites, including skin rashes, psychological effects and even allergic symptoms. Diagnosis involves both finding bed bugs and the occurrence of compatible symptoms.

Here at Az BugZ, we provide the most effective and quick solutions to getting rid of bed bugs. Contact us today to request a bed bug inspection and to eliminate any bed bug infestation.

Ants are social insects that live in colonies, which consist of at least one egg-laying Queen, males and workers.

Ant infestation is a very common pest problem throughout Arizona as this pest nuisance can cause pain from stings and damage to your food, home and office. Ants enter your home or business through even the tiniest cracks, in search of moisture as well as food. The ants foraging in and around your home or office are workers. Workers that find food share this information with other worker ants by leaving a chemical trail along the substrate as they crawl back to the nest. This "trail pheromone" which is undetectable to humans, adheres to the substrate for long periods of time and helps other ants find the food at the end of the trail.

The Most Common Type of Ants in Arizona are:

Fire Ants
Black Ants
Carpenter Ants
Pharaoh Ants
Harvester Ants

Professional help is always necessary to tackle tough ant problems. At Az BugZ, we know that ants work hard to survive. That’s why you can count on us to do an effective job in eliminating your ant infestation around your home or business.

If you haven't yet found out how devastating termites can be, we sure hope to take care of the problem before it gets out of hand. The most Common species of termite in Arizona is the Subterranean Termite. Subterranean Termites, which build their colonies in the soil, from which they have to move to locate the wood on which they feed. Subterranean termites are by far the most common in the South Western United States. Subterranean termites must live in a humid atmosphere with fairly constant temperatures. They build air-tight tunnels or passages from their nests to their feeding places. The tunnels are made by the workers from wood or soil, cemented together with a mixture of saliva and f***s. Understanding the termites habitat is key when trying to control these pests.

Fleas are one to the most important groups of insect pests because they not only cause discomfort by biting, but they can transmit several diseases such as plague and murine typhus. Color brownish black to black, but reddish black when full of blood. It is not necessary to have pets in the building in order to have fleas present.

Since fleas can jump about 6” (15 cm) vertically, they can easily hitch a ride on shoes, trousers, etc. Many vacationers who may have been unaware of the few adult fleas present, are often greeted and severely attacked by fleas upon their return. This can occur even if the building has been vacant of animals and people for as long as 6 months or so.

Whether you need commercial pest service or residential pest service contact Az BugZ for an inspection and quality that no other company can surpass.

Crickets are one of the more common insects that a Phoenix exterminator will see during pest control services. Phoenix is home to over 11,000 unique desert insects and several types/species of crickets. Most homeowners do not consider crickets a nuisance until that are kept awake by a chirping males seeking a mate, or they are overrun by a cricket invasion. Crickets do not bite nor carry diseases so they often rank a bit lower on the “I need pest control now” list.

Arizona crickets can multiply rapidly and more importantly they are a favorite food source for predator type insects that “sting” and “bite.” Stinging and biting insects will be attracted to healthy cricket populations and can be a threat to homeowners. Cricket pest control should not be taken lightly.

Controlling cricket populations is similar to most Arizona insects…control nesting areas, reduce moisture sources, eliminate food sources and seal access points to your home.

Crickets mate and lay eggs in the Arizona soil during the monsoon season. The eggs over-winter in the soil and hatch shortly after a period of rising temperatures and spring rains. The tiny immature crickets, called nymphs, look exactly like Cricket minime’s (except they have no wings) and feed on the same types of food. Within approximately 90 days the nymphs mature into adults.

Indian House Crickets and Field Crickets are the two most common crickets found in metro Phoenix and generate the bulk of calls for cricket pest control.
