The Center for Medical Education at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is taking shape inside and out.

Brick, glass and exterior finishes are defining the building’s exterior, while inside, walls are being closed in and work continues upward through the building. Roofing is also underway on the upper levels.

Around the site, underground utility work is nearing completion, the generator structure is underway, and elevator installation has reached another milestone.

Together with our joint venture partners, Barnhill Contracting Company and Metcon, we’re excited to see the building’s design come to life as work moves forward across the site.

Last week, we joined Sampson County Schools, community leaders, students, educators, and project partners to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Hobbton High School.

This project brings TA Loving back to a community that has been part of our history for generations. The Bryan family has been an integral part of the growth and sustained success of our company since 1931. Raymond Arthur Bryan, one of North Carolina’s most successful businessmen, grew up just four miles from where we gathered for the groundbreaking. His mother was a teacher in what was then a much smaller Sampson County school system.

The Sampson County school system played a role in fostering the entrepreneurial spirit that would later define Mr. Bryan’s career. Today, TA Loving has the opportunity to build a new school in that same community — one that will serve approximately 600 students and provide 119,000 SF of modern learning space for generations to come.

With over 100 years in business, projects like Hobbton High School are a reminder that what we build is about more than buildings. It is about contributing to the communities where we live and work and helping build a better quality of life.

We look forward to working alongside Sampson County Schools, SfL+a, and our project partners as the new Hobbton High School takes shape.

At the Selma Wastewater Equalization and Pumping Facility, our Conveyance Systems team is bringing each component together—from excavation and sitework to major concrete structures and mechanical systems. It takes careful planning, skilled crews and strong coordination to build infrastructure of this scale. We’re proud to help strengthen Selma’s wastewater system for the future.
