We're proud to help hang senior banners each year and celebrate our local graduates!🎓

💨With recent high winds, some banners have come down.💨

As graduation has passed and banner removal is scheduled soon, we ask that any fallen banners be dropped off at KPUD rather than reported for reinstallation. They will then be returned to the school for student pickup.

Outages and downed lines can be reported by calling 800-548-8357. Crews are available for emergencies 24/7.

⚠️ Weather Alert ⚠️

Forecasted weather conditions may result in power outages and damage to electrical equipment. KPUD crews are prepared to respond, and our automated metering system helps us identify outages quickly. However, customers are encouraged to report outages and any damage they observe.

🚨 Safety Reminder:
Always assume a downed power line is energized and dangerous. Stay away and report it immediately by calling (800) 548-8357. Customers can also submit photos and locations of line damage through their SmartHub account.

📍 During a power outage, an outage map will be available on our website. If your location is already included in a known outage, you may not be able to submit an outage report in SmartHub or using the automated phone system. Please note that restoration efforts may take longer than usual, as crews are required to inspect power lines and equipment before re-energizing circuits.

✅ Be Prepared:
• Keep flashlights and extra batteries readily available.
• Have blankets, water, and non-perishable food on hand.
• Charge phones and essential devices ahead of the weather event.

Thank you for helping us keep our community safe.

⚡️Thunderstorm Outage Final Update - 05/31/26

Klickitat PUD crews have completed restoration efforts following the severe thunderstorms that impacted our service territory beginning on May 28. Power has now been restored to all customers affected by the storm-related outages.

At the peak of the event, more than 10,000 customers experienced power outages as strong winds, lightning, and falling trees caused widespread damage across the county. Crews worked tirelessly to patrol lines, assess damage, make repairs, and safely restore service as quickly as possible.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our customers for their patience and understanding throughout this event. Large-scale outages are challenging for everyone involved, and we are grateful for the support shown to our crews and staff.

We also want to recognize and thank the entire Klickitat PUD team for their dedication and hard work during this response effort. Line crews, staking engineers, line superintendents, customer service representatives, engineering and operations staff, and support staff all played critical roles in restoring power to our communities. From answering customer calls and coordinating response efforts to patrolling damaged areas and making repairs in difficult conditions, every department contributed to a successful restoration effort.

Thank you to everyone who helped ensure the safe and reliable restoration of electric service across Klickitat County.

⚡️Thunderstorm Outage Update - 05/29/26

Outages at Start of Event: 10,113
Customers Currently Out of Power: 26

UPDATE 9:00PM - The line crews have made significant progress today and have reduced the number of customers without power to just 26 services. Crews will continue working tonight to restore power to these remaining customers as quickly and safely as possible.

We appreciate your patience and support as restoration efforts continue.

At this time, line crews have been working for more than 24 consecutive hours on storm restoration efforts following their regular 10-hour work shift. Due to safety concerns, crew fatigue, and ongoing high winds, the decision has been made to release crews for a required rest period at 8:00 p.m. All crews are scheduled to resume restoration efforts tomorrow morning at 4:00 a.m. during daylight hours.

As new outages are reported, personnel remain available to patrol affected areas, identify damage, and make locations safe. This approach allows line crews to return and address outages more effectively once conditions improve.

Please note that estimated restoration times are difficult to predict during large-scale outage events. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.

Lastly, we want to remind customers to stay safe and always assume a downed power line is energized. Stay well away from any downed line and report it to the utility immediately by calling (800) 548-8357.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as crews work to safely restore power.
