When our communities face challenges, we believe our work should go beyond the project site.

Following the July flooding near New Castle, SGM’s Eric Krch and Jeff Writer spoke with the Aspen Daily News about the flood’s impacts and the work now underway to help the community better understand and prepare for future events.

Over the next few months, Eric and his team will model drainage scenarios throughout the gulch and valley, using that information to inform recommendations for a potential cross-governmental mitigation project.

We’re proud to see our team putting their expertise to work when it matters most—helping our communities recover, plan ahead, and build greater resilience for the future.

👷‍♂️ Take a look at the progress of the new Granby North Service Area Water Treatment Plant!

In late July, SGM's Alex Kordick, PE, Senior Engineer on our Water & Wastewater team, led a construction tour of the facility, which is now a little over 50% complete. It's always rewarding to see a project move from design to construction—and even more exciting to see it taking shape.

Designed by SGM, the new treatment plant features ballasted flocculation/clarification, multimedia filtration, and UV disinfection to replace an aging facility while improving system resiliency, reliability, regulatory compliance, and capacity to meet Granby's future water demands.

We'd also like to recognize our project partners, Blythe Group (architect), Brown's Hill (electrical & controls), and Shaner Life Safety, for their collaboration in delivering this important investment for the Granby community.
