What does a flame sensor do in your HVAC system? 🔥

A flame sensor helps confirm that the furnace flame is actually on. If it doesn’t detect a flame, the furnace shuts off the gas as an important safety measure.

If a furnace starts but shuts off just a few seconds later, a dirty flame sensor could be one possible cause.
