If someone knocks on your door right after a storm, you might just be another number to them.

A lot of these companies only sell insurance work. Essentially they’re selling something a homeowner doesn’t have to pay for. After a storm they bring in a outside sales team, just like may of the solar companies did. They knock every door on the street, file as many claims as they can and hope enough get approved for them to make some money. They're door knockers, not roofers.

Hire a local company that's still fixing roofs when there's no storm. I live, eat, breathe and spend my money in the communities I work in.

Your tile roof can look fine from the street at year 17 and still be running out of time.

Here's why. Concrete tile is basically the same material as your sidewalk, and it lasts a lifetime. The paper under it doesn't. In our heat the underlayment dries out around year 16 to 18, it starts to curl, and water finds the gap.

The fix is a detach and reset. We pull your tile, put down new underlayment and set your same tile back on. To keep it simple, you get a new waterproof layer, and the house keeps the look it has now.

Winter is coming, and this one could be a big one.

Hurricane Polo's moisture reached Arizona at the end of September. Now forecasters are calling for a very strong “Super El Nino”, and NOAA favors a wetter than normal winter for Arizona.

Here's the problem. A roof that's been baking in our sun for 10, 15, 20 years has never taken high winds and heavy rain at the same time. When it finally does, you get a leak, then interior damage, and that's when the cost goes up.
