For those unfamiliar with Spandico's process, let me explain how we operate. When you call, you'll initially speak with me, Nancy, at 630-858-3730. I'll gather some basic information, including your name, address, phone number, and email, along with a brief description of the work you'd like done. This information will be used to fill out a request form that will be sent to one of our owners, Rich or Nabil. They'll contact you within 48 hours, typically sooner, to discuss the project and schedule an appointment that suits both you and them. During the appointment, they'll assess the work and prepare a quote for your review. Expect to receive the quote via email within 48 hours. If you miss their call, they'll leave a voicemail, and you can return the call at your convenience. Do keep their number handy and don't hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.

If you have any questions, please ask in the comments below or feel free to email me directly at [email protected].

We will be closed from January 19th until February 2nd. Rich, one of the owners and our estimator is having knee replacement surgery. I will be checking for voicemails if you have any questions or concerns. You can also email me directly at [email protected]. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Repairs that have been approved and a deposit paid will be completed when the weather permits. Currently the temperature is too cold to do anything.

Thank you,
Nancy

WHAT IS AN ICE DAM?

We are currently getting a very large volume of calls concerning ice dams. Unfortunately we no longer do roof snow removal or ice dam remediation.

Ice damming is the accumulation of frozen water that collects at the edge of a roof after it snows. When the air inside an attic is warm, that warmth can transfer through the roof and begin to melt the layer of snow, which in turn causes droplets to run down the roof. When those droplets reach the edge of the roof, they refreeze because the part of the roof above the overhang (the eaves) doesn’t receive warm air from the attic.

As additional snow melts, runs down, and refreezes, the layer of ice continues to build, creating a literal dam—a barrier that prevents water from running off the roof.
