🧄🌱 11 Pounds of Garlic Planted!
Christian, Emma, and I finished planting our garlic here on the farm in Glastonbury, Connecticut!
We planted four varieties:
🧄 German White
🧄 Persian Star
🧄 Music
🧄 Chesnok Red
We prepared a 146-foot-long raised bed by hand, using a shovel and rake. We planted five parallel rows, spaced 12 inches apart, with 10 inches between garlic cloves.
That's approximately 875 garlic plants!
I also prepared two extra short raised beds off to the side, just in case we needed more room.
🐾 And we can't forget Kiba, our official garlic-planting supervisor! He stood attentively along the edge of the planting bed, watching everything without stepping on our freshly planted garlic. Such a well-behaved boy! ❤️🐕
A lot of hard work, but we got it done! Now we're looking forward to seeing what next summer's harvest brings!
